Guardians six four victory over the Mariners 12 hits for Cleveland in this game are as they pick up the dub on the road and you know they knocked around that bullpen for Seattle a little bit. The rookie DeLotter hit two home runs in this game. As Jose Ramirez did his usual thing driving in two runs as well and chased a lot or not a guy. A lot of people were hyping up for American League Rookie of the Year all of a sudden him, McGonicle, off to really good starts here. I we're gonna have a really fun rookie of the year race in both of the leagues. It's Carson Benchholmer and the National League for the Met's Weather Hold hit a dinger for St. Louis earlier today. You love to see it get off to a good start for the young guns. And now to talk about a little bit of baseball, a little bit of basketball as the sweet 16 half of the games are over half of the elite eight is set. We're going to go out to the Westgate Superbook, check in with our buddy Arthur DeCeaser risk manager over there at
Art Dice 21. You can follow him over on X any joins us on the progressive guest line. So Art talked to me man. We add four games today in the elite eight or in the sweet 16 setting up the elite eight will get to your opening numbers as far as the games are concerned in the elite eight and just a moment. Illinois takes down Houston 65 55. They're what two two and a half point dogs there. They went outright. They advance. How did that impact you guys over at the Westgate? Well, when you look at a team like Houston, once Florida went out, Florida and Duke are really the two big ones. We were fighting in the future book. Florida gets knocked out and then Houston took that second slot behind Duke. So Houston getting knocked out was awesome because even too, when you look at even to win the region, obviously, Houston was set up to play their games. Basically, it's home games. We were going to lose pretty big on them, the win their region as well. So really good start for us there. And you mentioned, we saw two classics earlier than two blowouts late, but we're still set up really well with Arizona and Michigan. If either of
those teams win the national championship, we will really do well in our future book. We're looking for them both to make the final four. They play each other. One will definitely be in the championship game. So that's what we are hoping for. Arthur DeCezza is our gas risk manager over at the Westgate Superbook. How about Arizona? You mentioned Arizona with the win over Arkansas 1098. What kind of action did you guys see on that game? Just because I felt like a lot of people were making a case for Arkansas. I didn't see it. I didn't lay it with Arizona. I had their team total over. But were you guys seeing a lot of hog money? Yeah, we did. You know, we were as high as nine. And we got to as low as seven and a half of the game. I believe we closed eight on the game. Interesting too. We saw pretty good under money come in. And that's kind of been a theme here with all these sweet 16 games. All these totals above like three or four points in some cases. So we saw that today as well. And I mean, Arizona scored one hundred and ten points almost. So obviously that game was never staying under. But yeah, I mean,
you know, it was a solid night for us regardless of what was going to happen in that game. How about Purdue? They take down taxes on that tip in late with under a second to go win 79 77. They're going to the elite eight now. We'll get to their number in their matchup in just a moment. But where do you guys stand liability wise on them? Just because they were preseason number ones, they hit a lull during the season. They got a size like 40 to one at some places. Then they won the big 10 tournament. Do you guys have big liability on Purdue? Not necessarily. And you know, when you start that high on the board, you know, one of the preseason favorites, obviously, not a lot of people are going to come in and say, Hey, give me Purdue eight to one nine to one. You're right. They did get pretty low in the season. But I think by that point for us, at least, the betters who were making future bets over at the Westgate, people were like, no, we don't want to invest our money in Purdue. We'll look elsewhere teams who were in that range like Arkansas and St. John's and some of those other teams who were floating around 30 to 41 people want to invest their money there over Purdue. And then Iowa
taking down Nebraska. Everywhere I looked, it was sharp money on Nebraska. I believe late here. Iowa picks up the win 7771. How do things go for you guys? Yeah, I mean, it was one of those games where early money was Iowa, sharp plus two and a half. When it got to Nebraska one and a half, there was sharp money there. Think we close game on that game too. So that actually saw pretty good two way action. That wasn't one that was like a big decision for us either way, because once you're in that one and a half, two, two and a half range, you get money on both sides, you get money on both sides of the money line. So really easy game actually to book. Arthur DeCesar is our guest Westgate Superbook risk manager at Art Dice 21 on X before we get to the Friday games in the sweet 16. We do have odds posted for the elite eight right now. What are you guys doing with Illinois and Iowa? Where do you guys stand side and total? We open 7138 and a half. That really shows you the respect that Illinois is going to get now after that win. And I was been tremendous in this tournament.
Obviously they beat Florida and just played an albiter here. But man, I, I look at that early number and it feels high. But I mean, I guess if Illinois is going to play the way they play tonight, I mean, they could be to anyone. Yeah, I mean, the offense is just so good. I just don't know how I was going to be able to hang with them through a full game at least. And then Arizona and Purdue, which you got two teams with high expectations, two coaches that pretty consistently let people down. Where do you guys stand with Arizona and Purdue on your opening line? Yeah, I mean, obviously Purdue made the title game a couple of years ago, get you kind of failed. But one of these teams is going to quote unquote breakthroughs. The Tommy Lloyd making the final four Purdue, obviously, has been there. But we open Arizona six total of 152 and a half. And I expect both these games to get bet under like they've been doing anyway. Arizona six feels like they are to me playing the best in the tournament right now. They feel like the team to beat. Yeah, I agree with you there. I think Arizona is the best team. Where do you guys have them right now to win the whole thing? I'm sure they're the favorite. But what's the number at the Westgate? Yeah, I mean, when you look at that, obviously, the favorites are going to pretty much be
Arizona and Michigan. Obviously, Arizona has already moved on. So Arizona right now plus 240. They are the favorite followed by Michigan at plus 350. Then you have Duke at four to one. Yeah, I think, you know, I'm in a good spot Michigan 20 to one Illinois 16 to one Iowa State 28 to one. I might need a little Arizona because I don't know how any of those teams are beating Arizona right now. How about Friday and the sweet 16? I'm very curious how they're betting Duke and St. John's over at the Westgate because I can't find anyone on the over. And I haven't heard a lot of people on Duke, just a few people here and there. I'm seeing what Duke six six and a half total of 142 141 and a half. We initially opened Duke six and a half and then we took sharp money on Duke and then we went to seven and we've been flooded with St. John's money at seven. So we're back to six and a half and I always remind people, you know, this is still a public tournament. The public dollar is going to outweigh the sharp dollar. So even if the sharp late six and a half early and we moved, we can easily go back. We can even go back to tip off where Duke is six and the sharp got the worst of the number. It absolutely can happen. Well,
that should be rooting for Duke in the game. But as far as the futures, we want to count. So probably St. John's is better. You know, you come Michigan state. It's kind of been a toss-up two way action. We've been one and a half two. We're now two lot of a lot of under money, though, Dustin 137 now 134. It's a pretty big move to that under Michigan. I mean, Michigan's going to be the team that is going to have all the money line stuff. So they're going to be in every money line parlay tomorrow with every other sport hockey NBA. I mean, it's just the way it's going to be. They're going to look at that $5 Michigan number and say, Hey, that's the free big go square. That's nine. We've been going from nine to nine and a half kind of bouncing back and forth under money as well. 176 now 173. And this to me is the most fascinating game. Probably the game. No one even cares about. But Iowa State is four right now in 140. We took pretty good over money actually in this game this morning, 138 and a half up to 140. The line tells you Jefferson's going to play, but you would think he would be limited. I kind of like Tennessee in the game. I never liked to back Rick Barnes in the tournament. But
I feel like force too many. This more feels like a one and a half, too. Yeah, I think you're probably right about that. We're chatting with our buddy Arthur DeCezer, risk manager over at the Westgate Superbook progressive guest line brings you him here on caching out. What are you seeing as far as Michigan State Ucons concerned? Because I got to tell you, I keep flipping back and forth on which side I like it's super short at most places. You guys have it at two, I believe, and a total of 134. I imagine if there's anything sharp happening here, it's on the total. But I can't figure out if it's over or under art. Yeah, I think right now for us, like I said, with our opener of 137 and already moving three points, you've seen the sharp early money coming on the under and then the public just comes and barrels these totals even further down. You know, that's why they're moving three and four points. This to me out of the four games tomorrow is the best game that's set up for two-way action. Kind of like the Nebraska Iowa game where it's going to be a very easy game to book. They're going to lay two. They're going to take two. They're going to take Michigan State plus one 10 out of the money line. You combo probably being money line
partly as well. So this will be a really nice two-way action game. And then finally, we got Michigan laying nine against Alabama. That totals 173. What kind of action are you seeing on that game? Big on their money 176 now 173. You know, Michigan is just, they're going to be that team right now where the public is going to be happy to take Michigan. And I got a Michigan ticket and I know you do as well. The health or sculptor approach that Alabama plays scares me a little bit. Yeah, because all they want to do is chuck up threes. They take bad shots, but they go in. I still think Michigan's going to win, but I don't want to see Alabama. I really wanted to see Texas Tech of this game. No, I'm totally with you. And I'm a little terrified that this could be the spot where they missed the guard case on who's out for the year. That definitely scares me for this matchup for Michigan and Alabama. Got his reaction to everything at half-time in the Houston and Illinois game, Arizona, and Arkansas. But the rest of the NCAA tournament as well, Eric Cassilius gave his best bets in the first hour of the show. Gary Sheffield Jr., an hour number two on Major League Baseball. We just checked in at the Westgate with Arthur DeCezer. Colby Dant will join us in 15 minutes breaking down the sweet 16 and those two lines we have for the elite eight right now. But what I want to do is look back and then look ahead in Major League Baseball because in case you missed it, opening day is coming gone. And just some things that jumped out to me from earlier today, won the rookies. The rookies were on display in both of these leagues. And I think we're going to be in for a really fascinating rookie of the year race in both the American and national league because a lot of these guys are ready for the moment. We saw Kevin McGonagall for the joy tigers and their win over San Diego earlier today with the final score of eight to two. Go for for five with two ribbies. He's your favorite in the American league at plus 280. So he takes care of business does what he's supposed to do. And they're very
excited about him and how can he not be? If you watch that swing from the left side, it looks very, very good for Kevin McGonagall. Your favorite for Al rookie of the year. Also, you add Moonataka Murakami, the third baseman for the White Sox in his first season coming over from Japan. He hit a home run. Unfortunately, it was a big loss for them against the Milwaukee Brewers as the Miz kid. Jacob Mizorowski went five innings, one hit 11 strikeouts. We had over six and a half strikeouts at plus 124. Contreras had three ribbies for Milwaukee. Bowers had a home earn three ribbies, but Murakami hitting a homeries nine to one for American league rookie of the year. You do like to see that happen. You'll want to see this be exciting. And oh, by the way, I didn't even mention chased a lotter for the Cleveland Guardians in their victory over Seattle late night. He had two home runs. You can still get chased a lotter, seven to one for American league rookie of the year. As far as the national league is concerned, well, JJ Weatherhold, who's the third shot in the board at four and a half to one. He homered in his debut for the St. Louis Cardinals as they beat Tampa Bay nine to seven earlier today and then Carson Bench. His number has dropped
a ton. He was 20 to one when we discussed NL rookie of the year about what eight days ago on the show. He's now 10 to one because he homered and stole a base as the Met's beat the Pirates 11 to seven. They knocked Paul schemes out after two thirds of an inning and five earned runs. Easily the worst start of Paul schemes is entire career. So that's the big stuff from earlier in the day and here in Major league baseball. Now let's start looking ahead and we are going to do what we do every single night on the show during baseball season three up, three down highlighting the pictures that jump out to me and some of their stats based on their matchups for the following day. So we start with the Cleveland Guardians and Gavin Williams as they're in Seattle second game of their series late night, Friday night. You can get Cleveland plus $1.40 right now in the money line and Seattle is favor with George Kirby on the bump at minus one 71. Your total is seven but Gavin Williams. I don't know if people realize this down the stretch last year and the second half. This guy was incredible 12 starts a seven to one record a two one eight ERA over a strikeout
in inning and he's going to take on a Seattle lineup that is capable of missing the missing the ball lot. They swing a miss a ton and because of that, I think his over five and a half strikeouts is worth a look in this spot. I'd also consider plus one 41 right now in Cleveland. They just beat Seattle and opening night. I'm not sure the Mariners offense is quite as good as people who seem to perceive it is. The bread and down in addition is nice and I think he's a really good player but he's a contact guy. Any power if you want to win in today's game and apparently Cleveland with chased a lot are there up for rookie of the year. They've got some pop that maybe we didn't anticipate coming into the season. So I would think about Cleveland plus one 41 and I really like Gavin Williams over five and a half strikeouts. Ryan Nelson takes the hill for the Arizona diamond backs as they're at Dodger Stadium once again for game two of their series. They got smoked in game one behind Zach gallon. Now Ryan Nelson. I'm putting these numbers out as part of three up because they are good numbers, but I want to poke holes in them. But in seven games last year versus the Dodgers four starts 35 innings pitched yet a 206 ERA 29 strikeouts a 102 9 whip. Here's
a problem because he was in relief. I think these numbers are a bit skewed when these guys go to the bullpen and they're not stretched out. They're not trying to maintain their their endurance over the course of a game. They're just letting it fly for an ending or two. So I think those numbers are a bit skewed. That's why I might consider a Dodgers team total bet for this game. I think they can get to Nelson and I don't really like this Arizona bullpen that for some reason does not have a left handed picture because they think they have righties like Ryan Thompson who have good reverse splits against lefties. I tell you that's probably a fool's mission there. I wouldn't do that if I was them. The team total for the Dodgers. I imagine it's five and a half. I've been waiting on this and did not check in the break. Yeah. Oh, it's four and a half minus one 37. I don't hate that. I think they're going to put runs up on everyone, even as good as Nelson's numbers appear. And then our last picture is part of three up is Robbie Ray. Robbie Ray, pretty good numbers against these Yankee hitters. At least the ones currently in the lineup only judge only Rosario have decent numbers against him. They're hitting a buck 94 three homers a couple of those from judge seven
ribbies a 647 OPS. The Yankees did kill lefties last year. They were the best in baseball in terms of OPS. So I might stay away from that. But Robbie Ray, pretty good numbers against the batters in this Yankees lineup. Now let's go to three down and you say Kikuchi takes the hill for the angels as they're in Houston, a team that he played with briefly a couple seasons ago. Looking for that line right now. Sorry, I clicked into the Dodger game. Right now you can get Houston minus 163. The angels are plus a dollar 35. The total in the game is eight and a half. And Kikuchi does not have good numbers against the Astros. A 583 lifetime ERA 78 and two thirds innings over 16 starts just 70 strikeouts and a 155 whip. You'll look at this team for the Astros. They consistently mashed left handed pitching. That's just what they've done year after year. 10th in OPS a year ago last time Kikuchi faced his team five earned runs and five and two third two thirds innings in September.
So I would go team total over on Houston at four and a half. I don't mind laying the minus 160 juice on Mike Burrows who's a guy that a lot of people have high expectations for him. But I think the Houston team total is probably the safer way to play this one because in that stadium with those righties turning on fastballs. Kikuchi's not blown up by anyone these days. How about George Kirby kind of surprising to see this. But George Kirby doesn't have really good numbers against the Seattle Mariners or the Cleveland Guardians hitters in this lineup. 1962 with 306 average they're hitting against him seven extra bass knocks two homers five ribbies and eight 38 OPS. Now majority of that I would point out is Stephen Kwan and Jose Ramirez. But George Kirby who is better at home. I will acknowledge that here. Remember last year he got off to a slow start was dealing with an injury. Last time he faced Cleveland. He was pretty good seven innings two earned the time before that five innings two earned for him and that one is fifth start of the year. I don't know if I'm quite going to get there the plus 41 on Cleveland. It is a lean for me. Instead I think the best way to play that game is to back the pitcher Gavin Williams over on his
strikeout against George Kirby on the other side. And then finally our last three down pictures Kevin Gossman of the blue jays who surprisingly not good numbers against these a's. Now these could be a bit skewed because of playing in Sacramento a year ago. The game on Fridays being played in Toronto where the blue jays are minus 168 favorites. Severino's plus a dollar 39 totals eight and a half Gossman against these a's hitters. They're hitting three 40 against him. Small sample size 50 at bat. So they're 17 for 50 three extra base hits home or five ribbies in eight 40 OPS. I don't think that's not nothing. And Gossman's getting older 35 years old I believe for him right now. So I'm not willing to lay it with Toronto here. I'd actually considered taking the the plus at all are 39 with the a's because Severino a year ago was tremendous on the road. He was terrible at home but really really good on the road 302 ERA on the road for 601 at home. But he hasn't faced Toronto since 2022. Gossman 35 years old last year against these blue jays in Sacramento five hits three
earned over five innings in Toronto four and two thirds eight hits three earned in that time span. Rookers for for eight McNeil's four for nine ace team totals over you can go over three and a half at like minus 125. I think that's the direction to look or maybe you go the a's first five plus a half a run at minus 114. That's what I'm considering so far as far as that game is concerned. Terms of modeling mono. I mentioned some of the matchups there as we were breaking down three up three down. Here are your best hitter pitcher matchups coming up for the day. Carlos Corea wears out kakuchi. I don't really trust his bat speed right now. So I may not do anything with him but total bases could make sense, especially playing in that minima ballpark. Jordan Alvarez is 10-28 lifetime against kakuchi three homers nine ribbies. But again, let's just consolidate this with isok paratus is also on our list for mono e mono and go team total over for Houston because I think they're going to knock around kakuchi in the second game of the season. I mentioned Ramirez and Kwan good numbers against Kirby J ram six of 12 with a homer. Kwan is six of 15. I probably
wouldn't touch them from a prop perspective. If you wanted to do something maybe Aaron judge over hits runs RBI's over total bases. He's three for eight lifetime against Robbie Ray three extra base hits three homers five ribbies a 2000 OPS. He went over five on opening night. He had four strikeouts. Could this be a get right spot? Just the law of averages would tell you judge could have a good game. He's someone I'd consider. I imagine the hits runs RBI's or total bases. They're going to be set pretty high, but I would still consider it that for him. And if you want to bet these MLB player props, well, check it out right now. We're going to go out to the progressive guest line and welcome in our favorite guy for college sports. He is Colby dant sports gambling podcast network. The college experiences show and he joins us in his usual spot here on the progressive guest line. Colby, uh, yet a pretty good day man. Talk to me. You had taxes and the points and Purdue. You had Iowa and they won outright against Nebraska. Some of them are columns in the elite eight. How'd you feel about it? How everything went today in the sweet 16? Oh, man. I mean, the first two games were absolute classics. Um, now, you know, I've been screaming Ben McCullum as a top five coach in the sport for quite a while.
Uh, I want to, I want to give him the credit, but it's also nice to play five on four. Uh, so, uh, uh, uh, complete, uh, you know, Matt brain malfunction there by Fred Hoyberg and Nebraska, but hey, Iowa, they don't have much athleticism. So I guess you could say talent, but, man, McCullum can coach man. He gets these boys ready. So, uh, I thought that was the handicap was like, I think there's a strong coaching edge with the hawk eyes. It came through the Texas game as much as I liked hitting the points because I did bet the points. I also took the money line. And I had it there. I wish Sean Miller wouldn't have gone small in that final position defensively because I thought even if we get it to overtime, I thought we might be able to get that thing. Um, so a little bit, bittersweet there. Uh, and then I was, I was foolish. I did take Arkansas too. I took the points at Arkansas. I thought that we get there Arizona looks just given the netty now. Good Lord. They look crazy. So before we look ahead to Friday's game, I want your thoughts in the opening lines for the elite eight because they are up Illinois opens up minus six and a half against Iowa, the totals already been bet down.
We open 140. It's down to 138 and a half. How do you feel about this one? Uh, yeah. I mean, look, I, I'll definitely take, take my chances on McCullough. I might like I said, like I'm so part of the, the experience with the underwood historically, I understand this team is old. This team is deep. This team has height as, as Houston could not, you know, really get to the rim today. Um, but I just think underwood's gotten outcoached, often by mid major coach. I remember Porter Moser really doing a great job against him. Really outcoached him at Loyola Maryland when he went to, uh, putting Cam Crutway got to point forward. They played what back in January, if memory serves me correct. I believe Illinois won by like five or six. Um, but I believe memory surgery. Correct. I was champagne. Uh, it was Iowa. So it was Iowa. Uh, okay. Um, well, uh, yeah, that changes things a little bit, but I still, I'll take the points. I think McCullough is such a good coach. You give him, uh, you know, quick turnaround. I think it's, I think it, you know, it sides with him.
Uh, I do probably think Illinois will win the game because at some point, I was roster. If you really think about this, I know disrespect to those kids. They're fighting hard from their playing good. I just don't think they're that talented. So it's remarkable that they're even in the elite eight. So I think the line I probably get home, but I also take the points with the Hawkeyes. I think they'll have some creative defensive schemes to really challenge Illinois. No, I, I think that spot on and the point you made about it's a quick turnaround with tournament style play that you then you're just betting coaches. I, I agree. That's why you consider McComb in that spot. How about Purdue and Arizona. Arizona opens minus six and a half. Total's one fifty one and a half. I don't know what to make a Purdue. I'm always on the wrong side of Purdue. I think Arizona, like you was the best team remaining. What would you do there? Yeah, I got to lay it here. I mean, Purdue. I thought God kind of fortunate to get out of the game tonight. I know I know down the stretch. They made more plays and credit to them. I just think, you know, Texas, Texas has some shortcomings that that are pretty evident now. Great run by it by the long horns and Miller's first year, but Arizona, I really thought Arkansas.
Well, I might be able to score with them and stay in this thing. I, like, Purdue's got good guards, but I just don't think they're going to be able to sustain the defense to stay in the game. Meanwhile, Arizona's defense is good and everything they got in the paint. I'll tell you this. If Purdue does cover this, it's because they can hit the three. That's the only way I think Arizona can lose a game. Or even haven't you can even have a close game with Arizona is you have to be on fire from three, which I guess, you know, at times they've been capable of throughout the season, but I'm not getting in front of the train that is Arizona. No, I'll lay it with ease. Yeah, that's kind of my vibe as well. Now let's talk about Friday, where we'll have the rest of the elite eight set following these games. Duke and St. John's the one I want to watch the most. So I'm happy it's the first one of the day. Duke's a six and a half point favorite. The total is 141 and a half and it's funny, man. I have not heard a lot of people make the case for Duke just a few. I prefer St. John's. I like the under and you're willing to go money line with the dog here. Yeah, you know, and I get the same feeling where I feel like everyone I talked to is on the Johnny's, but I mean the big news is is what and I think Duke's playing hooky a little bit with the Caleb Foster thing game time decision.
I if he plays and he's actually 100% this might be a different scenario here, but I don't think he is 100% they were saying he was potentially out for the season or out to the final forward to be next week. You're telling me he's a week ahead of schedule. I don't know about that. So I think they're just doing that to try to keep their competitive edge there. And I think the Johnny's matchup well against them really when you think about it like Duke's big that's kind of been the way they've beaten down these ACC teams or tournament teams is just inside. And really that's the strength of St. John's and Rick Patino with which edge with edge of Ford and and Bryce Hopkins and Dylan Mitchell. And another thing is I just I don't believe in young teams in the tournament these days you look at I think I said this that now I'm going to be trying to remember this off the top my head right here. But I believe it was since 2021 teams that have gone to the lead eight or 21.8 years old on average. The one team that was below that average was Duke last year.
So I I believe this year this year, Duke's incredibly young. So St. John's is around that or above that I believe. So I think the Johnny's and I also think Patino as much as John Shire's done a good job. I think Patino is the best coach in the game right now. What we do is our guest sports gambling podcast network the college experiences show get it wherever you get your podcast at the Colby D on X. Talk to me about this Michigan Alabama game. I hear a lot of people making the case for Alabama. I can't get there man. The Wolverines are eight and a half point favorites for a reason the totals 172 and a half you want to lay it here with Michigan. I do want to lay it here. Look, I mean, we we know Alabama at the like Alabama has the player suspended and in Halloween there, but they hit 23 is the last game. I'm automatically weary of you being able to hit 23s because that's what you're going to need to do to beat Michigan. Michigan's two tall for them. I think their transition defense is too good for them.
And really it's going to be a Michigan crowd. I fully expect they're being in Chicago. I actually, you know, I think this might be a blowout. I think it's a terrible match for Alabama stylistically. I even I wouldn't shock me if the outline hit here would not shocked me if the outline hit. Where does Alabama have the edge here? They just have to stay on fire. They have they have to stay on fire and really win the guard battle. But I just I can't see this Michigan team. Just the matchups. The bigs are going to be just dominant here in the transition defense where Alabama can normally get a lot of easy points. I think it's going to work here. So I think Michigan, they've proven all year they have a great transition to great defense in general, but great transition defense. And yeah, with the crowd behind them, I'm all over. I'm all over the Wolverines here. All right. How about Sparady, Yukon's lane one and a half against Michigan state totals 134 and a half. Which direction you going to look here? Yeah, I want Sparady. I think they've been the better team all year. Like Yukon, Danny Hurley does a great job for, you know, prepping his teams.
I just think this team's been a little phony all year. You go back to the Georgetown games, the Providence games. I'm talking off all of them, you know, they've barely gotten by in those games. You look back at the UCLA game. UCLA was out without their leading score. Now credit to Yukon for making those plays down the stretch and winning that game. But it was too close of a game to me. And now you're playing a Michigan state team that's that to me is just tougher and bigger physically. So I think in Tom is obviously is a fantastic coach. They kind of neutralize each other there. I'm on Sparady. I think they've been the better team all year. And I really think they're going to bring a physicality that Yukon hasn't seen in the biggest other than St. John's perhaps. All right. Then quickly before I let you go, Iowa state and Tennessee. We're looking at a three and a half point spread totals 140 and a half. Who do you like? Yeah, this is almost like the Russian roulette play because it's like brick barns in the sweet 16. I was state to advance past the sweet 16. But look, no Jefferson for Iowa state. The crowd. That's a five hour drive from Ames. That's the nothing. That's like going to the gas station.
Right. So those fans will be there. And I think this is the year. Ozzelberger has doubled down that he's staying in Ames is not going to Chapel Hill. And I do believe this is the best Iowa state team we've seen in my lifetime. So I'm going to lay it against Rick Barnes there. But intrigued to watch this one. He is Colby Dan. Check him out sports gambling podcast networks. The college experience and on X at the Colby D. Thanks is always my friend. We will talk soon. Good luck with all the bets. Thanks brother. So if you missed any part of the show, go back and download it wherever you get your podcast with that. Let's start looking ahead to the Friday card of action. We have to start with the sweet 16 Duke is a six and a half point favorite. They are taking on St. John's the total is 141 and a half. Look at this matchup. I think there's a lot of elements that play as to why one would like St. John's and by the way, I'm not going to Oki doki here. I do prefer St. John's and the points here, but I'm on the under 142 when I think about this match up. It's the age of St. John's. It's the size of St. John's. It's the style at which the Johnny's play with that I think it's going to control how this game is played tempo wise, attitude wise, physicality wise. And that's why I like the under 142. It's at 141 141 and a half. I still like it at that point, but you think about the length that they have in the perimeter with guys like edge of four and Hopkins and and sellers and Mitchell who six foot eight.
And by the way, those four guys I named are seniors. They're not ready for their college careers to end. And I think that this is where the veteranness of a squad can really show itself in a pressure pack situation. Take it on a Duke team. Have you been overly impressed with them during this NCAA tournament? Sure and Gogbo came back. He will be limited in some sort of capacity for this match up. We'll see if they get healthier here coming down the road and get foster back. But the reality is, even with those guys, it's a very young team. Sorry, I take a swig water. It's a very young team for Duke. And because of that, I think St. John's controls the style for the fight. Give me the under, especially when you start looking at the number, Rick Patino, two and oh, this run in the tournament with the Johnny's John Shire nine and four overall to the under in the NCAA tournament seven and four when seated four or higher. I like the under a lot in Duke and St. John's. Now, as far as the other games are concerned, I don't have official plays as of right now. But let's run through them and see what I do like Michigan's laying eight and a half totals 172 and a half.
And this could be a spot where Michigan misses case on. He is an elite three point shooter. He's a guard guards tend to be the guys who go off and games against Alabama with the pace that they're going to play with because big don't run like the guards do. The guards can get up and down the court a little bit either easier. That's why I'm concerned about laying the eight and a half with Michigan. This though does feel very similar to what we saw with Arkansas and Arizona. You have one team that pushes the pace one team that is all gas no breaks Arkansas Alabama both out of the SEC. So perhaps we do what we did with that game and we attack it from a team total perspective. Would you want to do something team total with Michigan over 90 and a half? A little high. That would be my lean though over 90 and a half with Michigan because I do think they're going to run with Alabama and they have better scores. So I lean over 90 and a half. It's just a little bit rich for me right now. That might change for tip off but want a little action. But I'm not betting it as of right now.
You've got you kind of Michigan state Huskies are one and a half point favorite your totals one 34 and a half. These two teams are mirror images of each other with the defense the size the tenacity to coaches who have won championships to coaches who coach hard who are very animated on the sidelines. Michigan's 22nd and offense 13th and defense you cons 11th and offense and defense 30th and offense and the one element of play here is that Michigan state has an offense this year. Tom is who doesn't always have that and that would be an X factor for me. They're also way more battle tested at least the last few weeks. Then Yukon is Yukon early in the year had a great out of conference. They played amazing then once it got into league playing big east. I was not overwhelmed with what I saw from the Huskies this year. If I was doing anything in this game though, I would lean under 134 and a half and that is a very low total. Tom is those 11 and 4 to the under when playing in the sweet 16 Dan Hurley is 12 and 6 to the under in the NCAA tournament. One guy that I think would be the X factor for me if I was going to back a side would be Michigan states Jackson Kohler.
If he goes off, I think Spardy wins this game. If he doesn't, I do think Yukon advances. That's how thin the margin is for this match up between these two teams. Then finally, Tennessee is at is taken on Iowa State. The cyclones are three and a half point favorites the totals 140 and a half. We don't know the status of Joshua Jefferson. He's their best rebounder. He is their second leading scorer. He is their best overall player. Iowa State still has plenty of weapons. I'm not worried about that. They'll have enough offense here. The problem is I think that Rick Barnes has a group that's going to be really physical and very competitive. Nick Aiment is a stud. He's a size mismatch with what he can do. Gillespie can score with the best of them. So they do have a bit of a counter-punch for what Iowa State likes to do offensively here. If I was going to bet something, I would lean under 140 and a half in this match up as it features two elite defensive coaches. Iowa State is fifth in defense. Tennessee is 14th in defense. Rick Barnes in the tournament is 12 and 9 to the under. Ozzelburgers, eight and three to the under in the tournament, two and 0 to the under when playing in the sweet 16.
My lean would be under 140 and a half in that game and said I hope my Iowa State 28 to one ticket advances to the elite eight. With that, let's look at Major League Baseball because we've got a pretty solid card for Friday and I have a bunch of bets that I do like. And I want to start with the late game first. It's Cleveland taken on Seattle, George Kirby on the hill minus 171 Gavin Williams plus $1.41 the total in the game is seven. Now, first blush, I would think about taking the dog and Gavin Williams plus 141 because this is a guy who finished the second half of last year on a heater. 17 to third innings, 12 starts, seven and one record to eight to one eight year a 78 strikeouts. But I don't know if I want to go with Cleveland back to back nights where they won on opening night. I don't know if they win the second day here in a row. Kirby doesn't have great numbers against the Guardian hitters, but it's mostly remeerers and Kwan who've done the damage, not the rest of the lineup. So while I lean guardians plus 141, I am instead going to take Gavin Williams over five and a half strikeouts at minus 130.
The last time he faced Seattle was back in August of last year, seven innings, eight strikeouts for him. And I think he's really found himself as a pitcher. So I'm going to go over on Gavin Williams strikeouts against Seattle. The next play that I do like here is we're going to look at the angels and the Astros where I'm going to go team total on Houston over four and a half runs. You say Kikuchi has really bad numbers against this team overall, even though he spent some time with them. Houston's 10th and OPS against lefties last year. A lot of those guys are back, Kareya and Paradez and Pena who's healthy and Yordon Alvarez despite being a lefty match has left these. And Kikuchi's career ERA minimates 506 in 15 starts. Remember he played for the Astros briefly. And I just think they hit him around last time he saw that was in September. The Astros scored five earned in five and two thirds just off of Kikuchi alone. So give me the over team total four and a half for Houston against Kikuchi and the angels. Now I'm also going to be on the team total over for the A's and their matchup with the blue jays.
You know Kevin Gossman 35 years old. He was solid last year or three five nine ERA. But you know the last two times that he faced this team was last season in Sacramento five innings five hits three earned. And then in Toronto four and two thirds eight hits three earned runs. The Toronto hitters have a combined average of three 40 against him and eight 40 OPS. A good chunk of it is Brent Rutgers four for eight with a dinger Jeff McNeil's four for nine as well against him. But I think this A's team total is a little bit low at three and a half. So I like the over three and a half on the A's team total. Now the the odds are Toronto minus one sixty eight athletics plus a dollar thirty nine the totals eight and a half. I consider the dog here to with Severino on the bump plus one thirty nine last season Luis Severino was terrible in Sacramento. He had a six oh one home ERA on the road he was three oh two. Now he hasn't faced Toronto since twenty twenty two. But I would think about the A's here as the dog that could be live on the opening day for both of these teams. And we saw a few dogs that ended up cashing on Thursday's card. So that is something that I would consider but I'm not quite there yet.
Instead I think that team total is just the tad too low at three and a half for the A's. I'm also going to go with Chris sale under seventeen and a half total outs recorded against the Kansas City Royals. They don't really strike out that's a sign of this team Bobby wit Mike Elgarcia guys who put the ball and play. I'd also point out that in the offseason Kansas City added a couple lefty killers lane Thomas notoriously good against south paws. Blanking right now. There's lane Thomas Starling Marta Marta is the other one really good against lefties. So I think that Chris sale who his K prop six and a half. I don't want to fade that just because he can pick up seven in the first two innings of this game. I'm going to go under seventeen and a half outs recorded because Atlanta's got to treat him with kick gloves. They can't afford him to throw too many pitches to get hurt because they're running out of arms already. So I'm going to do that and go under there. And then I'm going to take the dog Detroit Framber Valdez plus 104 on the road at San Diego. You know, he had a down year last year, but he's still to three six 60 array and 187 strikeouts was awesome against the pods last season in one start in April.
Six innings seven hits to earned two strikeouts and the Padres last year were 19th and OPS OPS against lefties. Give me Framber at a plus price on the road at the.
