Carl Cox Surprised by Cardiff Mural, Nineties Dance Energy

0:00On April 20th, World Famous DJ Carl Cox got a big surprise in Cardiff with a fresh mural celebrating his reunion tour with the prodigy. Local artist Steve Jenkins painted it right by the principality stadium boardwalk ahead of Cox's gig at the Utility Arena. The artwork shows Cox rocking his signature sunglasses, his catchphrase, oh yes oh yes, and the prodigy name in bright yellow. Cox checked it out during a walkabout and shared a video on Instagram, calling it a spot on likeness and saying they did a killer job. He played a two hour set that Sunday night before, the prodigy hit the stage, bringing back that 90's dance energy to a packed crowd. Jenkins, a longtime fan from Lonelli in Carmarthonshire, came up with the idea for the joint tour. He mocked it up on his iPad, drove in early one morning last week, and knocked it out in a single day since he'd painted there before. Cox was super appreciative, but Jenkins just missed meeting him by a hair, though the video reaction warmed his heart.
