Cardinals Release QB Kyler Murray, Seeking New Home

The Arizona Cardinals have told quarterback Kyler Murray he's being released, with the move set for March 11th, the first day of the league year. The team tried to trade him first, but couldn't make a deal. They still owe him $36.8 million, guaranteed in 2026, and another 19.5 million would have kicked. In for 2027 if he stayed on the roster past March 15th, Murray shared a heartfelt message online, thanking fans and the community for their support during his time in Arizona. He apologized for not ending the team's 77 year playoff win drought, but said he's ready for the next challenge and believes his best. Football is still ahead. Drafted number 1 overall in 2019, Murray has dealt with injuries, missing 21 of 51 possible games over the last three seasons.
