On March 30th, a 43-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when her car veered off the M6 Southbound and ended up near a Brook early Sunday morning. It happened around 12.25 a.m. between Junction 19 for Nutsford and Junction 18 for Middlewitch and Holmes Chapel. Emergency crews rushed in, police, paramedics, and firefighters who had to use special rescue gear to pull her from the wreck. The car was partly in the water, so they stabilized it first before handing her over for medical care. She got rushed to the hospital about 45 minutes after the crash and is still there getting treatment. No other vehicles were involved, but the incident shut down that stretched the motorway completely. Firefighters winched the car onto one of their engines after the rescue, and crews spent hours recovering it while fixing the damaged barriers. The road finally reopened around 10.30 a.m. after more than nine hours closed, and police are still looking into what caused the car to leave the carriageway.
