On March 28th, Arkansas just got smoked by Arizona, 109-88, handing John Calapari one of his ugliest losses ever. But former coach Chris Walker says this could open doors for North Carolina, straight up telling them to hire Calapari if they want to win big again. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels crashed out in the first round to 11 seed BCU, leading to Hubert Davis getting fired with four years left on his deal. That means UNC owes him over $5 million in buyout cash, and now they're hunting for a top replacement. Calapari's got over 35 years coaching, 905 wins out of more than 1,000 games, plus that 2012 national title, and back-to-back sweet 16s at Arkansas after just two years there. Walker's pushing hard, saying Calapari turns programs around everywhere from Kentucky to Memphis. After the blowout, Calapari called Arizona a really good team that shot lights out and owned them from the jump, but he doesn't want his guys to dwell.

On one tough game after a solid season run, it's all speculation for now though, with Calapari locked into a five-year deal at Arkansas worth 7 million a season through 2029, plus automatic extensions. UNC would need deep pockets to pry him loose, but if they pull it off, Chapel Hill could be back on top quick.
