It's April 28th. This is Kansas News today. Local news powered by AI. A 33-year-old man from California just pleaded guilty in a tragic DUI crash that killed a Lanexa woman last fall. Vicente Perez re-ended another car on college boulevard leading to charges of second-degree murder and more. The crash happened around 5.30 pm on September 7th, 2024, near Lackman Road. Perez was behind the wheel of a Subaru WRX when he slammed into a Nissan Altima. 71-year-old Susan Cameron, a passenger in the Altima, died from her injuries. The 74-year-old driver also got hurt badly in the wreck. Prosecutor's hip Perez was second-degree murder, DUI, open container, and driving on a suspended license. This week, he copped to reckless second-degree murder, plus the other counts. Counseling is set for June 30th, 2026, in Johnson County Court, so justice is still unfolding

for Susan's family.
