It's April 22nd. Calgary News. Today starts now. AI-powered and ready. Calgary Police just busted a slick bank in Poster Scam, pulling in $1.3 million, with three guys now facing heavy charges. These crooks call folks pretending to be from their bank, dropping real personal and financial details to sound legit, then tricked victims into. Caughting up login info, pens, and even mailing over their bank cards, which got drained for cash, gift cards, and luxury buys. Over 80 scam reports hit in 2025 alone, with 15 from March to August linked straight to this crew, hitting everyday people hard, and wiping out savings quick. Cops raided the house on the 4,700 block of Dalton Drive northwest on April 14th, napping two men and seizing 59,000. Dollars in cash, debit and credit cards, IDs, and a bit of cocaine, the third dude got picked up in Edmonton the next day. 22-year-olds, Syrac Haptom,
and Ogieth Maim from Ottawa, plus 25-year-old Brian Shodoo Kenyamba from Edmonton, are charged with fraud. Over $5,000, unauthorized credit card use, money laundering, and theft over $5,000, more evidence is under review for extra. Charges and Intel shows. This ring stretches way beyond Calgary.
