On April 28, Pittsburgh Steelers' long snapper, Cal Atomitis, is switching to number 57 this season. He wrought number 48 last year after joining late, then inked a reserved future deal back in January to stick around. That number 57 hasn't been worn by just anyone lately. Linebacker Mark Robinson had it last, and before him, no tackle montravius Adams held it down from 2021 through 2024. Standouts like Gartsham Davis in linebacker Mike Merryweather wore it back in the day too. Atomitis hails from Central Catholic in Pitt, with 58 career games under his belt. 49 alongside AFC North foes the bangles, plus nine. Stints with the Eagles. Last December 19, he landed on the Steelers' practice squad when regular guy Christian Cunt's Tweet Disney. He jetted back from a workout in Arizona. Got up to speed quick, since long snapper schemes don't shift much team to team. Though he trained with his summer partner Cunts, Atomitis never made the 53 man roster for those final regular season games or the wild card.

In his senior year at Pitt, he buzzed his hair to raise over $114,000 for Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Now locked in for the Black and Gold, Atomitis is all about owning the ride and keeping those snaps
