A bi-election is set for Thursday, April 2nd, in Burry's Tottington Ward after counselor Luis McBrire suddenly stepped down. He quit on Sunday February 22nd because his new job demands political neutrality, leaving two years left on his term. Poles will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. that day. Council members had hoped to combine this vote with the regular elections on May 7th to save around 20,000 to 25,000 pounds. But electoral rules kicked in after just two residents requested a separate poll, forcing the local authority to go ahead.
