He picked up Big 12 newcomer of the week honors for the second time this year and landed on the conferences starting five for the third time. Earlier, he even snagged player of the week two. His latest standout came and Saturday's win over Kansas, where he dropped 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, a new career high for him. That effort builds on his 24 points against Baylor the previous Tuesday, even while battling bronchitis. Coach Tommy Lloyd predicted Berries would level up big time in January, and he delivered carrying that momentum through a strong February. Practicing daily against Arizona's tall forwards has sharpened his rebounding edge. For the month, Berries averaged 16.9 points per game, shooting 47% from the field, and 39% from three.
