Brothers Fight Back at Airport, Claim Self-Defense

Zachary Marsden Amaz claims pure self-defense after fearing for his life. The trouble kicked off when their mother got into a dispute on a flight from Pakistan, spotting the guy who upset her at a terminal to Starbucks. Amaz confronted him, things escalated into a headbutt and punches, leading to assault on three officers at a nearby pay station. He's already been convicted in a prior trial for attacking two unarmed cops in that Starbucks customer. In court, Amaz described tensing up when grabbed from both sides by officers with no warning or arrest announcement. He said PC Marsden's grip on his neck made him panic, thinking he'd be beaten to death on the ground, like cases he's heard about where police.

PC Marsden ended up with post-concussion symptoms, including three days of severe headaches, dizziness, bruising, and speech issues. Jurors heard Marsden kicked Amaz in the face and stamped toward his head during the melee. Both brothers deny the charges against Marsden, insisting it was all about survival. The trial rose on at Liverpool Crown Court, as the defense pushes that narrative hard.
