Broadway Kidz Camp: Talent, Fun, and Community

Young performers at Anchorage Community Theatre's Broadway Kids program are wrapping up their week-long camp. This fun session teaches kids acting, dancing, singing, and life skills like teamwork and responsibility. Executive Director Matt Fernandez says it helps them commit and be easy to work with. The group is gearing up for a big showcase this weekend. Kids rotate through classes, including special ones on stage makeup. First-timer Grace loved practicing makeup yesterday. Amelia enjoyed the dancing most and making new friends. Even with long nine-hour days, the energy stays high. Many campers say they could keep going longer. One boy, Eli, got tired one day but called the place awesome overall. Fernandez shared stories of kids crying at the end of the day because they had to leave. Parents get to see it all at the shows on Saturday, March 14th at noon and 2pm. Fernandez loves their surprise reactions when they realize what their child can do.
