Bringing Housing Communities To High-Cost Areas With Yoel Kelman
About this episode
Yoel Kelman is co-founder and Principal at Three Pillar Communities, a top 40 manufactured housing operator. Yoel grew up working on his grandfather's affordable housing rental units in Baltimore, MD, and for a long time never thought he'd go into real estate. Yoel studied accounting in college and got his CPA while working as a private equity financial consultant. Yoel got his MBA at MIT. During school, he launched a tech startup with a classmate called Ecovent. They sold the company in 2016. Yoel then partnered with his brother-in-law and business partner, Daniel Weisfield to start Three Pillar Communities in 2017. Over the past five years, they've built a >$350M portfolio of over 40 properties serving over 10,000 residents across 9 states.
