BREAKTHROUGH COVID DIAGNOSIS | DR LEANA WEN

On this epsiode of Free Thinking, Montel talks with Dr Leana Wen about his breakthrough Covid diagnosis, the importance of being vaccinated and information around the Delta variant. Dr Wen is an emergency physician and public health professor at George Washington University. She is a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, a contributing columnist for The Washington Post, as well as a CNN medical analyst. Previously, she served as Baltimore's Health Commissioner where she led the nation’s oldest continuously-operating public health department. A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Dr. Wen has received recognition as one of Governing's Public Officials of the Year, Modern Healthcare's Top 50 Physician-Executives, World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders, and TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People. She is the author of the patient advocacy book entitled When Doctors Don’t Listen: How to Avoid Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Tests and just released her new book in July of 2021 entitled: Lifelines: A Doctor’s Journey in the Fight for Public Health.
