What seems to be on much of the world's mind - ok, aside from the ongoing pandemic - are the world games going on. I think everyone is appreciating the positive distraction right now. We've been going down to my dad's house to watch the competitions. I love hearing the stories of those who have overcome, persevered, and fought for something. One thing the summer games teaches us is that our past doesn't define us, but can act as a source of strength to us.

I recently was listening to a podcast, “The Erik Allen Show,” and I gotta tell ya, Eric's story was just as inspiring as any of those summer games stories. It gave me chills listening to the depth of his past such as choices that resulted in jail time, addictions that took him down a spiraling path, and yet the redemption of breaking free from the chains of his past.
