Brawl Breaks Out at Cheltenham Festival

Around 3pm, six women got into a heated fight with hair pulling in punches, drawing shocked gasps from onlookers. Security stepped in fast, ejecting two of them from the grounds. The clash started with one woman in a check jacket, shoving another into a cubicle, while yanking her hair. Her joined in, tumbling to the floor before security broke it up. A witness nearby said it kicked off after some words were exchanged, possibly involving a mother and daughter. Racegoers reacted with horror, yelling, oh my god, as punches flew. This wasn't the only scuffle though. Earlier on Tuesday during the Trust Mark Ultima handicap chase, a group of men fought near the track, with one ending up with a bloody nose after, breaking free from friends holding him back. Some festival goers left looking rough the next day, with one man carted off on a gurney by paramedics amid gusty winds and heavy rain.
