On April 22nd, Brandon Aubrey just locked in a monster contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys and it's a win for everybody involved. The guy grew up in Plano, Texas, right in Cowboys country, and he straight up said he loves the organization and wanted to stay put. This deal secures his spot as one of the NFL's elite kickers for years to come. Flashback nine years, Aubrey was chasing pro soccer dreams of in Toronto. Things shifted when he grabbed his Notre Dame degree and jumped into software engineering in Pennsylvania. Then seven years ago, his wife watched an NFL kicker Shank of Field goal and hit him with those game-changing words, you could do that. He tested himself on a local field, nailing 60 yarders like it was nothing, and linked up with a top-kicking coach for three solid years of grind. That led him to the U.F.L's Birmingham stallions, where he dominated as the league scoring leader and earned all U.S.F.L honors in 2022. Cowboys special team's coordinator John Bones Fassel spotted his talent and brought him into training camp four years back.
Aubrey beat out the competition, stuck around, and turned into the 2023 NFL scoring leader with just three seasons under his belt. Now with this fresh deal ink just yesterday, Aubrey's not only etched his name in history, but locked down his family's future while keeping Dallas. Kicking strong for the long haul.
