A man has been shot and killed in Sydney's West, the latest in a string of underworld gun attacks in the city. Boxing coach Lewis Mean was gunned down in Punchbowl last night, dying at the scene. Left to Liam Tapper, at the scene in Punchbowl, Liam, it is the third fatal shooting in the past week. Yeah, good morning, that shows the seriousness, the level of audacity that these criminals are right now playing with here in Sydney, Lewis Mean, as he said, 32 year old. He was gunned down outside the Punchbowl community center just before six o'clock last night. One of the more terrifying elements of this story is that there were multiple school children who were around. Many of them were inside the community center at the time. They were doing tutorials. Some of them were also training as well and they were parents who were around, who were terrified, who have said that enough is enough. It's not just parents, but it's general members of the public police as well, who say that there's ongoing gang violence, there's gun violence that we're seeing here in Sydney. It has to stop.

Of course, he heard Gasmine Katley, our police minister last week saying that things aren't out of control, but many people now would have to think that the opposite, the relentless nature and the wave of these shootings that we're seeing here in Sydney right now, it begs to differ. It was the opposite to what the police minister had said. Just as to why me and was targeted. That's being investigated, but police have told me that it certainly is linked to this ongoing feud that we're seeing with the Alan Medines and the Coconut Cartel, just where he sits. In that right now, it remains unclear, but police are searching and calling on anyone within the vicinity of Punchbowl last night who knows or saw a Lexus SUV speeding away from the community center to get in touch with them because they believe that Lexus was the getaway vehicle used. But yet another day and another shooting here in Sydney, not. Thank you, Liam.
