Good afternoon. A boxing coach has been shot dead just minutes after leaving a gym in Sydney's southwest. Police are on the hunt for a lone gunman behind the ambush attack and they're investigating again, possible links to underworld crime. Sam Payne has the details. Good afternoon. Well, it was just before 6pm last night where police say 32-year-old Louis Mayan was walking through this punch bowl, a community-centered car park just about here. When a gunman called out his name before opening fire, hitting him multiple times. Now, there was witnesses nearby. The gunman ran away before fleeing in a silver car, witnesses rushed to the 32-year-old's aid. All I saw was the guy gets shot. I was just walking right here. I heard a bang. I ran over there and I just started giving the guy CPR. Tragically, Mayan died at the scene. As police began searching for that gunman, it was spotted on CCTV at Bass Hill being parked at the McLean Reserve. They towed that car later that night, but the scene here was frantic. People

were helping out trying to figure out what was going on. Children were running from the community centre, obviously up from after school care, shocked to what has occurred. Now, police are investigating the 32-year-old boxing coaches' links with organised crime and potential links with motorcycle gangs based in Queensland. This shooting does not have the same hallmarks as the other shootings that have occurred over the last several months. This shooting appears to be an individual one person acting alone at this stage. The person who was killed last night is known to us. This is the third fatal shooting in nine days. The 50-second gangland shooting this year are more details on this story in the news tonight at 6.
