The flyers have one Two straight Here Recently as You know, I mean We're not going to kid ourselves In terms of thinking that this is going to be Some type of a turnaround We're not going to kid ourselves Into thinking that This means that the flyers are going to be

1:02Back in the playoff hunt Or anything like that You know, you are at 65 points And the cutoff To earn a top three spot And the Metro is 75 with the Isle So it's very unlikely You know, that that were to happen With 23 games to play I get anything can happen In hockey I understand that And in sports in general But this just doesn't This just doesn't feel like A playoff potential team There's six points outside of a wildcard spot Now they did just beat the Bruins Who hold that final wildcard spot So that kind of I guess could be looked at as like Hey, this is If you were to think If you were to actually fool yourself Into thinking that You could say, hey Maybe they could make some sort of a run But we're not going to do that here I'm not going to Try and pull the wool over your eyes I think The way I would describe this Is Just kind of what we've seen

2:03Throughout the majority of the season Great goal tending Yesterday I mean, they cut Just excellent, excellent goal tending Out of Danvladar They make no bones about it The flyers should be thinking They're lucky stars That Danvladar Shows to sign in the offseason Over the summer Hey, if they didn't sign him The flyers who have 27 wins this year You probably would have I don't know, maybe Probably around 20 They probably would have about 7 less wins Without Danvladar Because he has just meant So much to that flyers team And that might be me exaggerating A little bit in terms of how many Wins they would actually have But you get my point There and Compete with Some of the better teams In the NHL And win some of the games they have This year

3:04Without him and net I think you You couldn't If you were to have a Possibility of Becoming a playoff team You wouldn't have been able to pick A much better goalie To get in the offseason I mean like to actually You know have the Without making a crazy trade Out there You know you wouldn't In terms of making a signing And that signing just working out As well as it has With Danvladar in net I think Vlad's been Really obviously the catalyst For them on the ice You know it also feels like Very strong as well and i mean he's Just made one terrific Save after another In this season for the flyers And he had a couple A really tremendous stops Yesterday and it led to the flyers Being able to do just enough in the end

4:04To get the win You saw some great offense out of Jamie Driesdale Travis Connectney was noticeable In that game i mean Jamie Driesdale You know being able to step into that shot The way he did on the goal Being able to you know Obviously find space Get a clean look at the net And be able to bury one Was awesome and then obviously TK to get his own to put The flyers up one and nothing Was great and again you wouldn't have had I think the The amount of Confidence you know From the flyers team the amount of drive From the flyers team Out the terrific play from Damn Vludar so that's where we'll Open it up as we hear from We're talking we hear from Jamie Driesdale As they discuss The man of the hour Dan Vludar Yeah that was said by Think you know we talked about moments You know obviously TK A couple of big moments for us

5:04Driesy with a with a big goal for us So you know those are the those are the plays We're looking for one tight games So it was nice to see You know the shots are pretty low at The in the first two periods But I think pretty much every one of The shots is a great day So you know he's been kicking Great and a big reason why we came up with the one You've seen him play a lot of The games Vludar this season Can you even write where this is as As far as crime gear and the importance And just the way guys need it I mean I think Every game and before the mindset is That's the most good game And you know with With him back kicking there and Ersi last two big performances And you know it's just our Judd point from him at that point When he locked in like that When he locked in like that What was the location like Do you leave him alone because I heard Dizzy He's the loudest guy in the room Yeah, majorly You know he does so much for us

6:04Authess well in the locker room Between periods he's always talking And stuff coming out his mouth So real positive guy And he's been real good for us So there you have it There's Rectacit there's Jamie Driesdale Talking about the importance of Their goalie Damn Vludar And it could It could very well be that the flyers Could inquire about moving Vludar at the trade deadline Now the one obvious issue That wouldn't make sense Of course the way he's played Has just been out of this world And if they were And the only reason you would Obviously trade him Aways it would be indicative of you Of course tanking But you would be taking away so much of the future But from the fan perspective Knowing how Well he has played Knowing that I'm sure In Vludar's mind Hey maybe I want to have a chance

7:04And taking my talents to a team That could possibly go on a run Now granite You're having to build Chemistry You're having to do so much more By being traded other than just Going out there and being a plug And play kind of goalie That would be of course And for teams that are in contention You know I'd like to think they Typically have a goalie That can do just that To give them The boost that they would need But if there is the possibility Of someone out there looking to make a trade Or someone gets hurt Maybe and wants to spend A little bit more That could be an opportunity for the flyers But and as I mentioned on the last episode It's a little bit more unlikely for them to move Vludar Now for the flyers And for its fans You have to feel The future in net With Vludar in there

8:04Is good if they Indeed choose to go that route You have someone back there That and as you heard from Jamie dry Still obviously he's a big presence in the locker room Which is something that I mentioned With Sam Ererson and the limitations he has That's what along with the You know physical ability Because I think it doesn't take A True hockey Fanatic to realize You look at Dan Vludar versus Sam Ererson There's a clear difference In terms of skill In the two of them So I think When again when you talk about errors When you talk about him and Vludar Especially off the ice There's a veteran presence that you obviously have With Dan and I think that's of course What makes him Also so valuable for this flyers team As I mentioned before The presence in the locker room

9:04And also the presence on the ice In terms of the vocal ability Out of him has been I think felt from the defensive side As well I think he At times makes them Maybe a little bit better than they Truly are showing like if you are Just kind of box score watching You know you see teams get some good looks I mean there's no doubt about it There are a lot of good looks That teams generate against the flyers And I know it's the NHL And that's typically going to happen But there are so many more quality shots on net That you will find By teams playing against the flyers And I think you will Again some other teams around the NHL Just because of the fact that The flyers just aren't that strong defensively Now we're talking after the game Said this about the difference in the defense Yesterday and really coming out Of the Olympic break We were better tonight Well I adjusted a few things I think you know I'm not going to get in the whole system But I think being the first year

10:04Trying to see what kind of team you have players I felt over the break we had to change And I saw some of those changes Tonight a little bit of the Ranger game You know we're not perfect yet But there's some certain things We're going to tweak a little bit for this team And I thought they did a better job Than Boston and other looks I mean, don't get me wrong But I said for the most part You know we possibly had to kill three penalties in a second I mean that's hard So it was tough to get them one back And then the third When I was impressed with Is killing those three penalties off And then having a really good third period You know it could've went the other way You never know Keeping them to the outside I don't really know how to see the shot like you know there's another level we you know we can I get to get these guys understand that we gotta we gotta if they got one we gotta have two if they have two we have to have three we have to have that mentality sprinting mentality and then like I said Ladi you know he's been great all year and when he can see the puck you know I think some starts he's had a lot of weak side goals it's not

11:07he's not his fault right that's that's on myself to get the guys to understand that weak side goals are killers and I didn't see as much I mean they had a couple on the power play but that happens personally I find that the biggest difference for the flyers isn't maybe so much so and it's equally potentially as impactful with what the coaching staff went over with them during the break but it's also the break itself to be able to have a couple weeks if you weren't playing in Milan to just you know kind of get off your feet get off the ice maybe for a couple days and then get back to work and you know obviously being able to take into account what you're being coached I think that is really what has helped this flyers team as well maybe more than really anything is the fact that they've been able to just have that break now could this break or could this kind of play propel the flyers to maybe you know challenging even

12:14closer for a playoff spot with you know couple two months to go now as a calendar is flip to March I would probably garner with 23 games to play you're not going to see this flyers team make a true push yes they played well I mean truly since coming back from the Olympic break in this past week they have played a much better style of hockey that you you can for sure admit that but is it sustainable I don't think so I mean you obviously have the March 6th deadline coming up but you also look at just the overall size of this flyers team it's just not there and I think that's that's what's really disappointing overall is the fact that the quality of player that the flyers have brought in on the defensive side and some of the players that they've gone out and gotten they're just not they're just not big enough you know they're a smaller team and

13:15the one thing that is going to be unfortunate if you do move a Rasmus Ristallainen and again it sounds a little hypocritical when you talk about them needing size and then you trade away a big defenseman although the pushback is you know Rasmus Ristallainen he's big he's just not I think there's a consistency level there that's not always felt and he's injured way too often you know you potentially find a team that would find value in him move them along and you know you're able to get what you can out of it but one thing that they really need to this offseason more than any is identify who needs to be brought in to give them more of an advantage in the height and obviously weight category because that's that's something the flyers just need to invest in this upcoming offseason I mean you can you can see it on the

14:19defensive end you can see it at times on the offensive end as well it's just it's got to be a point of emphasis but all right flyers fans so the flyers after the three to one win against Boston they're going to be back in action here coming up tomorrow where the flyers will take on the Toronto Maple Leaves on the road for a a lone road game here coming up then they come back home so obviously you know we'll see but potentially we'll be back on here talking flyers hockey after the conclusion of the Maple Leaves game thanks everyone for tuning in and we'll talk to you next time
