Bonus episode: Sorting through other interviews from the 2023 Cattle Industry Convention

About this episode

Another bonus episode! If you listened to our previous two episodes on traceability and Monday’s episode with an interview from staff at NCBA and the Public Lands Council, you know that CCA leadership and many other Californians traveled to New Orleans at the start of the month. This bonus episode is made up of two other interviews with Californians who were there and actively participating in the event.

The first interview is with immediate past CCA president Tony Toso. Tony shares about his new role as vice chair of NCBA’s International Trade committee and the priorities this policy committee is working on. In the second half of this episode we hear from UC Davis Ph.D. student in the Department of Animal Science Sebastian Mejia Turcios who spoke about advocating for the industry at NCBA's Cattle Chats booth in the tradeshow and was one of 10 advocates in the Beef Checkoff’s 2021 Trailblazer program.
