Okay, we're here to talk about Dancing with the Stars, the new season that's coming
up, a show that I obviously won, and a show that I firmly believe I could take someone with five out of ten athleticism and four out of ten personality and coach them to win the show. I feel like I can just tell them what to do, not the dance part, but the part with the people, which is actually more important than the dancing, more about that coming up. One of the things that's interesting to me is I keep hearing people with the years of dance training go on the show, not just this season, but every season and say, well, I've never done ballroom, so this is completely new for me. It's going to be really hard, and it's not. It's an obvious advantage, and I have no problem with people going on the show with dance experience. That's the nature of that show, especially when it comes to just general performers in Hollywood. If you're an actor, if you're a singer, you've probably taken some kind of dance. But to watch something contestant this season go on and say, no, it's just not the same. It's going to be hard for me too. It's not.
And it's a little insulting that they would say that that would be like me taking a majorly baseball player, putting him in a slow pit softball game. And then hearing him say, you're up. This is totally different. The ball is bigger. Well, the field's different. And it's coming in underhand instead of 95 miles an hour. It's so different. I mean, all that's true. But brother, you're still a professional baseball player. You already know how to swing a bat and track a ball. You have hand eye coordination. You understand timing and balance and how to generate power through your body. I mean, you may need a couple of it bats to adjust to the arc of the pitch. But you're not standing beside somebody who's never held a bat before. Or it's like a professional guitarist being handed a base. It's a different instrument. It has a different role, different techniques and feel. But that guitarist already understands rhythm, chord progression, how to stay in time with a band. I mean, compare that to someone that's never touched an instrument. And someone that's never even put their fingers in the frets, those are not equal starting
points. The biggest advantage that experienced dancers have isn't that if they know a specific ballroom or not, it's that their body's already understand how to learn choreography. A professional dancer can watch someone demonstrate eight counts and retain it. When I was on the show, I didn't even know what we counted to. Like I had no understanding of even an eight count on my first day. And I remember my partner being like, oh, you don't even know what an eight count is. So people that have danced professionally or have dance experience, their brain and their body have built that connection over thousands of hours. That's an obvious advantage. Now again, I'm not hating on advantages because everybody has a different advantage on the show. It's just a little insulting when people that have danced their whole life go, oh, it's not really the same because I've never danced ballroom because they know where their arms and feet are without constantly having look at them. Not me. I was like this. Heck. Okay. They understand rhythm.
They can hear the beat and know where a movement should land. They already have balance flexibility, posture, body control and even spatial awareness. They're not a point they're feet. They know how to extend to their fingertips and make a movement look complete. Things that again, if you've never danced, you have no idea. What's happening? If you have dance experience, you're comfortable being corrected, even being corrected using dance terminology and they're used to performing choreography while smiling. That was hard. And also while pretending that it's not physically destroying them, a true beginner, which a lot of folks are on that show, especially is trying to do all these things at once. You're thinking, okay, I'm going to move my left foot or my right foot. I used to write down every single step, like write it down with a pen. Left foot turned 40 degrees. I don't think where does my hand go. I'd write it down. Am I on beat?
Am I supposed to look at my partner? Where's the camera? Am I playing with the camera? Oh, my shoulder's not supposed to do that? Okay. Smile. Smile. The train dancer is learning a new style. The untrained person is learning how to dance. That is a massive difference. Here's another one. If an NFL receiver entered a flag football league, he could truthfully say, these rules are different. There's no tackling. The routes aren't exactly the same. The field is smaller. Okay, but you still play in the NFL. Now, none of this means being a trained dancer is guaranteed to win. Dancing with the stars is more than being technically great. I'm the example of that. It's a massive amount of personality. It's partnership. It's growth. It's not peaking too early. It's connection, not just to your partner, but to the people that are watching. Again, I am living proof that the best technical dancer does not automatically win this show.
And I'm not saying trained dancers shouldn't be allowed on the show. They should because everybody has a different advantage. They can be great on television. It's fun to watch excellent routines. I just don't love pretending that I've never done ballroom means I have no dance advantage because that, my friends, is a total load of bullcrap. Now there are different advantages you can have. For example, some people have a way bigger social media following and that's an advantage. Some people have a massive voting base. If you come from the bachelor or bachelor, you're going to go automatically through four weeks just because of where you come from. There are different advantages, but that would be like someone from the bachelor going on like this season is Tyler Cameron and going, no, I don't have an advantage. I don't have a base voting for me. Of course you do, but they don't deny that. That's the appeal of the show. For me, I was talking to people every single morning while I was training for the show.
I was touring on the weekends while I was training for the show. I was connecting with people. Now there were people with 10 times my social media following at the time. I think I had a million followers, but there were people who were way less than me too. My season, the best two dancers on the show were Tinashe and Juan Pablo, the pop star and the actor. They were both trained dancers, different types of dance, but they were excellent. They should have been on the show. They had tons of experience. Again, they were number one and number two best dancers on the show. They didn't fully connect. That's why they didn't win. If you can get someone that is an A plus dancer that makes the moms watching that show love them, that's an unbeatable combination. That is Afonzo Rivera, who now hosts a show. Because that guy could dance. I don't know if you're upset with Michael Jackson commercial. It was like a Coke commercial from back in the day that he was in. He could dance.
He's a trained dancer. He loved him. That is the unstoppable combination to have somebody who can really dance and someone who is so beloved. After that, if you have to pick someone that's so beloved and is a pretty good dancer, or someone that's pretty beloved and a great dancer, you want the total beloved. Because with scores, you can only hit a certain threshold, 10. If you get a 10, 10, 10, 10, and somebody gets a 9, 9, 9, 8, they're just small gap there. If they're so beloved, you can run the fan vote up so much it's not even close. It's 50, 50, remember. With me, when I finished, I was told, and this is after the show was already over, because they tell you nothing while the show was happening. I was told that my season, it was the largest gap between first and second place in the history of the show. And it wasn't because I was the best dancer. It's because I understood that the vote was actually more important than the scores, because it was logically speaking. Because again, you can run the vote up as high as you possibly can get it.
You can't run the scores up as high as you can possibly get it. So I was looking at the dancers that have dance backgrounds. Because again, if you hear them saying, well, it's not the same. I have an unball room. You heard my analogies, right? Baseball player, bass guitar, football player. I guess I'm into sports and music, so that's what I did there. But those analogies work. So here we go. Number one, Jenna Dewan. She has extensive professional experience. I mean, this is the most clear cut one. She's trained in ballet and hip-hop. She began her career as a professional backup dancer for Janet Jackson. She's also danced. Now, this is all from my Google searches. With Christina Pink, Missy Elliott and others, she was in step up with her ex-channing Tatum and World of Dance. She's on that show. She judged dance competitions. Now she said, well, I've never trained in ballroom. And so that's fair.
But again, I mean, she's as much of a ringer as you can possibly be. Now a ringer doesn't absolutely win the show. But for dance, and this is going to be something that haunts her all season, especially if she comes out and crushes. Because if you're a great dancer, you're automatically to the halfway point. They're going to get rid of people who don't have the physical ability. And usually there's somebody that's about to die on the show every season, like they get someone that's like a hundred. They always go like week two, nobody goes home week one, or at least they didn't on my season. So another thing you'll see these professional dancers say is, I'll have to unlearn things. Man, that would be nice. Have to unlearn dance. You can learn more dance. I'm not being a hater. I'm just a hater when people get on and go, I don't, I don't really. They have a ballroom experience. Number two, Harry Shumm. So from Glee, and again, he has a lot of experience as well. Now what helps him is he doesn't have as much as her. And what's going to hurt her is she's by far the most experienced.
So you're going to have other people with a lot of experience get by without being labeled as that. And so Harry Shumm, a high school dance team, worked professionally as a backup dancer for a bunch of pop artists, appeared on you got served stomped the yard, step up to step up 3D was hired on Glee, mostly because of his dancing. He also worked as a choreographer. So but again, he doesn't have the most. So he's not going to be the person that is the biggest villain because of their dance experience. So he's got it. He's also really likeable just from watching interviews already. I didn't know much of him before this, but really likeable. And number three on the dance experience list is Sierra Miller. Now she has significant childhood training. And I got to tell you, I didn't watch Love Island. So I think that's the show she's from. So I don't know her from that. I only know her from doing some Google searches here. And so this was Barrett in the announcement.
So she says she grew up dancing. She took ballet for 10 years. She didn't have a professional dance career. But 10 years of ballet should give her posture and balance and pointed feet and extension and the understanding of technique. But again, she's not even in the top two with experience. So she will not be labeled as unfair ringer. Next up is Julia Styles, which system is pretty cool. I was excited to see her make the list here of people competing. She had some dance exposure before, say, the last dance, the movie that she was in, where she danced. She had training. She did two months of intensive ballet hip-hop and choreography just for that movie. This is 25 years or so ago though. She is not a secret professional dancer, but she has performed and understands ballet. Again, enough to count a little bit, but not much.
Then you have people with kind of crossover dance experience. Amber Glenn, she is a figure skater. She has elite dance-ish experience because she's an Olympic champion figure skater. She has done choreography music. Again, not the same. And you're on ice skates. But there's rhythm and there's phrasing and there's spins and extension and balance and all those things. She can play the routine, but it's going to be a little harder for her than the others. So mostly it's just unfamiliar hip action from feet to skates. Skaters also occasionally struggle to lose certain habits. They developed on ice through their whole life since they started ice skating, basically right out of the womb. Another one is more Higgins. She's the one that said she was not going to dance with glove. Again, I didn't know her except for that show on Peacock. Was it the villains, the haters, the hiders, whatever that show was.
But she's on that and I think Love Island in the UK. But she did dancing on ice 2020. Kind of does, kind of does. What's that show called? Traders. Yeah, Traders. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Another one that I would throw in there because it's not fair if I don't, is Jackson Olson. He's this Savannah banana. So he does understand choreography. So they do choreograph dances and comedy and he knows how to move. Not the same as the others, but there's no evidence of formal dance training with him. So he won't know technique. He might now a little bit. He is also an athlete. And again, if we're just talking advantages, you can even do that. We can even break down athletes and do they have an advantage because of their body physiology. But here we're just doing past dance experience because I'm tired of watching people go, well, I don't have ballroom. I only dance professionally for 17 years. Oh, it drives me crazy.
So that's what I have to say about past dance experience on dancing with the stars. I think you should bring on people that have it, that have all of it because they rarely win the show. But when they start to say that it's not an advantage, that's when I go cuckoo because it obviously is. Now, they may not have a personality and it will be held against them. So no doubt about that. Once it gets to the halfway point, it will be held against them to go, well, yeah, of course. And also, if you're so good at dancing, you do not want to peak early. If I were them, if I were some of them, the people that have like a ton of dance experience, like if I were coaching Jenna Dewan, do not go out and kill it week one and week two. Do a strong seven, eight out of 10 type dance. Do not go out and kill it because what's going to happen is the headlines are going to be, of course, she's killing it. She's a professional dancer. Go out, do good, survive and move on. Like, you really don't want to start to kill it until three quarters of the way through
and then you want to really put it on. I mean, I would compare it to a major league baseball team. Let's do another sports analogy. Like you don't want to peak around the all star break. You want to peak towards the end of the season. There's a reason why so many wild car teams end up winning the World Series or going far. It's because those teams that just just get in at the end because they're playing so high, they're still so high and they continue to run through the World Series. So that's all I have to say about that's all I have to say about that. I love a good four scum preference from 30 years ago. Wait, wait, you're like, I'm not 94. 94, 2004, 2014, 2024. Oh my God, it's been 32 years. That right. The Bobby Cast will be right back on the new podcast, Solita. We share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pinierro and I travel by myself because it's a rare
space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smiled at us, not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip, I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When I was 14 years old, I was kidnapped and health captive for nine months. I survived and I've spent my life exploring how other people survive what should have destroyed them. I'm Elizabeth Smart and these are the survivor files. I just remember this low taunting voice next to my ear saying, shut up, don't say anything.
Every week I'm with survivors who live through the unthinkable. I knew if he woke up without a doubt he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced. But these aren't stories about what's taken from them. Their story is about what it takes to make it out alive. Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're a bookshelf and you're a 4U page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. This is Pro's Society. A weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for thought daughters, pop culture obsessives, and anyone who thinks pride and prejudice and love island deserve the same level of discourse. I'm Eli Rallo and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having.
I'm going to have to look up this story. I'm obsessed, so obsessed. From bestselling authors and your favorite book talk creators to the latest pop culture moments, nothing is off the table. Like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters and that is the Trojan horse, whether you're looking for literary deep dives, smart pop culture conversations, or a community of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place. Listen to Pro's Society on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See you between the pages. Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything. What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America? Developers with right wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area. The first thing you see when it pops up is high nears and apple etchum, but they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life.
Stop right there. Is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. God need men to rule. And decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bull. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test tube. They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration. I guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to our town on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. That call was really pivotal for me. Hey, it's Emily Tish Sussman, and this season on She Pivots, the podcast where women share bold career moves and personal turning points that changed everything. I sit down with culture shifting women who share their pivots like Para-Elimbian Alley Truett. I was like, I'm a month out from a shark attack. There's no way in 11 months I'm making the verilandics. I'm not going to be a advocate, Elizabeth Smart. I still feel that drive that I can still make a difference, so I'm going to keep going.
Celebrity chef Carla Hall was that scary to walk away from such a stable career after just two years? No. I was more afraid of being unhappy than I was broke in a dead and job that I didn't enjoy. And feminist legend, Gloria Steinem. All of us were trying to express women's real lives. We need a meeting place of our own. If I can contribute to that, I'd like to maintain that and leave this house for that purpose. Listen to She Pivots on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. This is The Bobby Cast. All right, let's do tears of dancing with the stars. These will be the people in each of the groups and how far I think they'll go. I'm doing this based completely off of just doing internet searches on these people because I don't really know what the personalities are and a lot of people crack once they get out there and some people shine once they get out there. So my category of that was fun, but you're not going to win.
Goes to Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmel who is dancing with Whitney Carson. So they always bring on somebody that's kind of fun that you don't think is going to be able to move well. That's not always the case because Andy did pretty good. Andy Richter with Emma, but I don't think that Guillermo is going to fare well on the show. He may have a couple of weeks in him. He's extremely funny and he is partnered with the reigning champion, but he's really not going to have the technique judgmental. I don't know that he's going to have the stamina based on the internet and then he's competing against elite dancers and athletes. So I think he'll be the lovable contestant who hangs around maybe a little longer than his score suggests and then Whitney does make the routes entertaining, but I think Whitney's also pregnant. So if you guys don't mind searching that and I think she's the first dancer to ever dance
while pregnant on the show. And if she's in her second trimester, so they don't really think she's going to last the whole season either if I'm just guessing. So what do we see? Whitney Carson pregnant. Four months pregnant. So he's in that category. Next up Connor Levitt and Adele. Now Connor Levitt is the star here. Adele is the professional dancer. She just won that competition to be a professional dancer, to be the pro. So Connor Levitt is the husband of Whitney Levitt from Secret Lives in Mormon Wives. He's just the husband of a reality person. And I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's not even the main guy. So I think that's going to be what gets him. He's primarily famous through his wife. He also has limited performance experience. And he's paired with a brand new pro, which does hurt a little bit too. He could surprise, but I think there are fewer obvious reasons for the general audience
to vote for him. But not a lot of people are going to have a seemingly beneficial pair of social relationship with him. So I think that's going to hurt him and he's going to get that was fine, but you're not going to win. Next up is going to be Giata and Alan. And so Alan's great. Alan's super nice. Giata is known for food network. The everyday Italian show she's done a bunch of cookbooks. I'm familiar with her. I don't consume much of her content or watch her show because I don't cook, but her strength so she is extremely recognizable. As soon as I saw she was on the show, I was like, Oh, I know her. She's a very warm television personality. And I think the older dancing with a star's demographic will like her. She has no obvious dance background. She could have trouble generating, you know, the athletic power of the younger cast. How old is Giata? Would you guys mind looking that up? And I think she can survive a few weeks on like ability, but this filled in this season
is unusually athletic. So I think she's going to have a tough run. Oh, she's 56. Okay. Not 25, but also not 75. I saw Buzz Aldrin on that show one year. I was like, Oh my God, he's going to die on the floor. Also in this category is Sarah Jane Nader and Hayley Bills. So Sarah Jane Nader is the sister of Brooke Nader. We got another one here. We got nepotastings. So she is Brooke Nader's sister who was on the show, who dated Glob and then they broke up on, I don't know, but you know, she's, she's a model. I mean, I think the same sex partnership does give it a distinct identity, but also you got Hayley, who's the first season pro. And then Sarah Jane has one of the smaller individual fan bases. Again, she's not even the main person in the thing that she's known for. She's like the sidekick. It's like if Robin came out in the superhero competition and you're like, no, no, that's,
we need bat, where's Batman? So it's going to be difficult to predict. It isn't intriguing, but we'll see having a new pro hurt you every time as well. All right. Next tier here probably won't win, but could really make it a strong few weeks. And here I have Taylor Hansen from the band Hansen and Britt. You guys remember Oombop, but Hansen has so many awesome songs like I'm a Hansen fan. So I think his strength will be musician rhythm. That's something. I think 90s nostalgia that's hitting so hard right now and he's a part of that. He has a very loyal following. I can tell you those Hansen fans. BTS doesn't even know. Like BTS now runs. What is it saying? BTS walks because Hansen ran. Yeah, whatever that saying is. Is that the saying BTS runs because Hansen walked whatever you think BTS is a crazy
fan base. You should see the Hansen fan base. They stand on the shoulders of greatness. I'm just making up saying now that I think work, but I think that Taylor Hansen is going to be fun for a lot of people for a few weeks. I think his weaknesses is that he's probably never danced in that playing music on stage does not guarantee body coordination. He may be better than people expect, but he's going to have to go heavy personality. He's someone that if he really wins the people over because they already have a relationship with him, that I think he can go pretty far. Tatiana Oli who was Ashley Banks on the fresh principle air as dancing with Jan Jansdude. I think Jansdude dancer that was in Taylor Swift's group, like her background dancer. So another massive nostalgia appeal here. She has a performance background because she was a pop star member when she was putting out music, but nothing like some of the others. There's also the Alfonso Ribeiro connection because again, they were both on fresh principle
air. Also, Jan is a new dancing with the stars, pro. Again, I think it's the second season and there I'm telling you, there is something to people if they're kind of torn, who their pro dancer is. And I've been lucky enough to see research on the pros because I see research on me. I saw television research on the pros like it matters who you get because some of the pros are just so beloved. Some, and some, they're so new that it definitely doesn't help you. It doesn't hurt you, but it definitely doesn't help you. I think Tatiana Ali could be a fan favorite. I think she could do pretty good. I don't think she can win the show. Sierra Miller and Brandon, so she's known for summer house, the traders, love island USA after sun. Is that a drink or a show love? It's love island USA after sun. All right.
There's the Bravo support there. She seems very confident. There's a lot of reality television on this and I think it's going to divide up, especially early, like you're fighting for a singular piece of pie there. I got to be honest, I didn't know she was. I don't watch those shows. So I didn't have a big understanding of people from summer house, the traders or love island. I think she could be good, potentially very good, but she's going to really need to be super warm. I don't know how warm she is. She's going to be super warm and not just friendly, but she's going to have to make people want to be her friend and there is a big difference. Okay. Next, next group. Semifinals are bust. That's this next group here. Ezra and Danielle. Now Ezra is a parent-lipical metalist, world record holder and adaptive sports advocate.
An extraordinary athlete that always helps. A very compelling story, the fearlessness, he's going to have great packages, which is amazing for that show. Like you really need the producers to give you great packages. Not only that, if you have a partner, a pro that can really choreograph and make super special routines every single week, that's an advantage. And he has possibly the best at that, which is Danielle. So I think he's really a wild card. I think he can semi-final it because Danielle creates these performances that are unforgettable. So I think that helps him. Julius Styles and Ezra the pro. That's next. She's known for 10 Things I Hate About You, which was the jam. She's known for a movie. The Born Movies? She was in the Born Movies? And I haven't seen those in a long time.
I love those. And save the last dance. So whenever she was cast, I thought that was so cool. I just remember that one scene where she's like teaching her how to dance. On Save the Last Dance, she's doing this at the picnic table. That's super cool. Nostalgia works for her as well. She has a little bit of dance training because of the movie she's been on. She has admitted to being nervous. I saw a clip of her where she's being interviewed on a red carpet. She's like, I'm super nervous for my kids or really rooting for me. But working together, that's super cool. I can corporate the kids. Make yourself as human as absolutely possible. I think there's a really high ceiling for Julius Styles. And if America reconnects with her, and she really opens up, but what I like from her I already saw her opening up and talking about her kids. Like that's what you have to do. You gotta give people like a walk, a look inside of your life. Not just how you feel about things, but things that exist at home, people that matter to you. Why you're doing these things.
You gotta cry sometimes. I think she really could do great. I have her semifinals. Hank tight, the bobby cast will be right back. I knew if he woke up without a doubt, he was going to hurt me. I started feeling that there was someone at the end of my bed and I just started screaming. They are abducted, stalked, controlled, and nearly silenced, but these aren't stories about what's taken from them. Their stories about what it takes to make it out alive.
Listen to the survivor files with Elizabeth Smart on the iHeartRadio app Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman. I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle. I choose option B. I'm Julie Pinierro and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like, you smile good, that's not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies your soul about it. It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself. So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
I hope you listen to Solita on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. If you're a bookshelf and you're for you page are equally important to your personality, welcome home. This is Pro's Society, the weekly podcast that's part book club, part group chat for thought daughters, pop culture obsessives, and anyone who thinks pride and prejudice and love island deserve the same level of discourse. I'm Eli Rallo and every week we're connecting the dots between books, the internet, and the conversations everyone can't stop having. I'm gonna have to look up this story. I'm obsessed, I'm obsessed. From bestselling authors and your favorite book talk creators to the latest pop culture moments, nothing is off the table. It's like if you can hide some real messages inside compelling characters and that is a Trojan horse. Whether you're looking for literary deep dives, smart pop culture conversations, or a community of readers who love to think a little too much, you're in the right place.
The first thing you see when it pops up is high nears and apple etch. But they weren't just planning houses. We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life. Stop right there, is that normal? A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment. God need natural and decides to fight back. Do not use my hard work to sell your bull. They're not just opposing what's being planned for here. Our hometown is not a test to. They feel like they're standing in opposition
to an entire administration. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies, now did you? Listen to our town on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. That call was really pivotal for me. Hey, it's Emily Tish Sussman. And this season on She Pivots, the podcast where women share bold career moves and personal turning points that changed everything. I sit down with culture shifting women who share their pivots, like Para Olympian Alley Truett. I was like, I'm on out from a shark attack. There's no way in 11 months I'm making the very little index. Advocate Elizabeth Smart. I still feel that drive that I can still make a difference. So I'm gonna keep going. Celebrity chef Carla Hall was that scary to walk away from such a stable career after just two years? No, I was more afraid of being unhappy than I was broke and in a dead and job that I didn't enjoy. And feminist legend, Gloria Steinem. All of us were trying to express women's real lives. We need a meeting place of our own.
And if I can contribute to that, I'd like to maintain that and leave this house for that purpose. Listen to She Pivots on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back to the Bobbi cast. Mora Higgins is in this category. Now she has Mark Ballas who I think is the best. Anybody with Mark Ballas, you have a shot. Buzz Aldrin, which we talked about earlier, if he would have danced with Mark Ballas, I think he would have had a shot. So I don't know more because she does love Island and the traders, I guess everybody does those shows. Big personality from what I can tell. It looks like she's very confident. The first thing I saw from her was she said, I do not want to dance with Gleb. That was like the first thing I knew from her. And then Gleb wasn't even invited to be a dancer on this season. I think she has a very British following though. And so her American voting base may be smaller than her British following, but Mark makes her dangerous.
If you dance with Mark Ballas, you have a chance to win it all. Like one brilliant routine can go super viral and can make her last three or four weeks. I mean, the best two creators on the show are Mark and Daniela. If you're a teen with them, you should thank the producers. Like they gave you the absolute best. Still in this, I've got two more. Connor Wooden Riley Arnold. Now he's comedian, he's a comedian, social media personality. He's funny, he's self-aware, he's got a young audience, but he has no obvious dance experience or athletic background. I think he could be someone that you see grow because growth is a big part of this as well. To watch somebody grow, they don't even have to be as high as everybody else, but if they're growing more than everybody else, that is significant on that show, especially if you like them. That's such a massive part of this, and I think he can do that. I think in this category, some of finals are bust, Tyler Cameron and Sharna, who is my partner on the show, she's back after five years. I think there's a little bit of intrigue about that,
but that only lasts for a second. He's known for the bachelor at modeling, having abs. He did play college football, and that's what his advantage is, athleticism. So his other advantage would be the bachelor nation voting. You could probably just sit on the bench for four weeks and be part of bachelor nation, and they're gonna vote you through a few weeks. Tall muscular guys can look stiff. I think that would be a weakness. He may not be stiff. He may be ready to go, but he's gonna have to make people like him, because I don't think people, because I don't know him, but I don't think people that don't know him like him, because you just see anybody really pretty, and it's unfair, but you're like, I don't like him. So he'll have bachelor nation. He's got to convince people in the first four or five weeks that he's super lovable. And he was dating one of the Heddeed sisters for a while, and like, how lovable can someone be that did that?
You just think they're like on a different planet than you. It'd be hard with those two, because neither one of them, Sharna or Tyler, are known for their warmth. They're, especially Sharna, she's known for her like, sassiness. All the pros have something about them that attracts you to them, and hers is like, sassiness and fire, and it's not being super warm. And I think they're gonna have to find something that makes them extremely warm, or they're gonna last five, six weeks. I think they'll make a good run. I don't really see them winning it though. And then we'll get to the finalists who I think can win this thing. I have Harry Schum, Jr. and Jenna Johnson. Again, he's known for Glee, step up two and three. Again, he's a former dancer with a ton of experience, but since he's not the most experienced, he's not gonna be the guy they hold to that standard.
It's gonna be broad up, but he's not the one, because she'll come up in a second. Like he's a gift to performer for sure, tremendous body control from the videos that I watched. And I think the judges will judge him more harshly, because he does have all the experience, which isn't super fair, but, this guy could win it, especially if he's lovable. Then we go to Jenna and Val. Now, Jenna DeWon is who has the most experience, like she is a legitimate professional dancer. A lot of star quality, she's known for step up and the rookie, and Jenna Jackson's backup dancer, but she is the biggest ringer of the cast. So viewers may expect perfection, and judges expect perfection. She's gonna be judged harshly on it, and if she is not so, so, so warm and extremely likable, and girl next door, she doesn't have a chance to win it. She's gonna have to hit all those to win it. She'll get to the finals,
almost based only on her dance experience. So I think she's a near lock for the finals, because she's gonna be that good, but to win it is going to be very hard. Okay, and here are the two people. I have two that I think will win it, which is a bit unfair. Okay, she's supposed to pick one. Here's who will win Dancing With The Stars, whatever number this next season is. I have two people. Amber Glyn and Pasha, she is a former Olympic gold medalist, three time US figure skating champion. I mean, she's kind of the whole package when it comes to a show like this, patriotic. She understands musicality, spins, flexibility. She's not gonna be nervous to perform, which is such a big part of that show. She may a little bit at first. Everyone is at first, because you're doing something different. She's gonna lose that quick. I think some of the Latin dances may be harder for her,
just from where she's coming from, but that's nothing. I think she's probably the safest preseason pick, like if I were gonna bet money on it. I mean, she has the ideal, Dancing With The Stars resume, without looking like a completely unfair professional dancer. Now, she's not known, but I think the patriotic part makes up for that. And here's the person who I really, really think is gonna win it. It's the Savannah Banana. It's Jackson Olson. I don't know him from Man on the Moon, but I've watched a couple of his videos and he seems like somebody that the moms will love and somebody that daughters have a crush on. And let's not act like the show isn't 85% women. So I think Jackson Olson wins it. Now, here's why, why, why? He's also with Emma, who is the most likable and probably most beloved female pro on the show.
If he is lovable at all, and he can dance at a six and a half or seven, and he has great growth, I think that's who you're looking at winning the show. He's an athlete. He can do at least a little or some choreography. He understands that because he's had to do that with the Savannah bananas. And it's a lot of energy, it's a lot of comedy. Man, if he has the charm, which I think he does, I think it could be a banana with the stars. That makes no sense. So that's what I picked on it. Amber Glenn and Jackson Olson with a little lean toward Jackson Olson. By the way, this hat right here that I'm wearing, you have my white top hat on. A quick story about this. My final dance on dancing with the stars, season 27. The only dance I got all 10s on, by the way. I had on a full white tux.
And I invited my friends to come out and be part of that dance, grocery store Joe, DeMarcus Ware. So I had other dancers from the season because I wanted to include everybody because I felt like my season to me was just amazing growth from me. And so I had everybody come out, I had Tom Bergeron come out and we flossed, except he did dental floss. Aaron Andrews was out. It was a part of my dance that she'd been on the show before but she was a host. And I'm in this full white tux. And at the end, once I finish, I take my hat and I chuck it into the crowd. I was pumped. That's the last I ever saw this hat. About a month and a half later, I checked the mail and someone had sent me this in a box to the radio station saying I was in the crowd at dancing with the stars. I caught your hat. I think you probably won it back though. I would if I were you. There was no name on it. They just meld the hat back and found out where I worked and sent it there. That's legit.
That's good karma. This would be a fun season. I thought generally the cast was pretty great. Sometimes when they do the cast announcement, there's a lot of who's, but that's just generally celebrity culture now. You're just not gonna know everybody because there are 500 ways to be famous now for 5000, for 5000 different ways to be famous. I don't even know what I'm saying. There you go. Good luck everybody. Stay healthy. If you're watching this and you're a part of the show, get massages. Get massages constantly. You have to take care of your body, drink water, eat food. Even if you don't think you're hungry, sometimes you're only not hungry because you're too tired to be hungry, but your body is hungry. And if you don't fill yourself with nutrients, if you don't drink water, if you're not physically taking care of yourself, you're gonna break down week five or six. Get sleep. It's all the fundamental things that we think we need to be healthy. Do that because it really matters about week five or six. You're also gonna get into massive fight to the department.
And that goes with, well, any relationship in life, when you're that close to somebody, that many days a week for that amount of hours. But you're also gonna be bonded to them in a way that you've probably never been bonded to anyone that's not romantic. Some people are also gonna bang their partners. Good luck to you guys, because it will end weird. Unless you get married, that's happened before, but it will end weird. So that's what's up. Thank you all and good luck to all the contestants of this season, especially the two that I picked to win, Jackson Olson, Savannah, Banana, and Amber Glenn. Thanks for listening to a Bobby Cast production. On the new podcast, Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
