Bob Harlan: Green Bay Packers' Visionary Leader

Bob Harlan, the longtime leader who transformed the Green Bay Packers, died on March 5th at age 89 in Green Bay. He's been 18 and a half years at the top of the organization, starting as president and chief executive officer in 1989 after. Joining the team in 1971. One of his biggest moves came in 1991 when he hired Ron Wolfe to run football operations. That led to coach Mike Hungren, quarterback Brett Favre and Reggie White joining the team. The Packers made two super bowl trips, winning in 1997 and stayed a top NFL team for decades. Harlan also pushed through her tough half percent sales tax in Brown County to renovate Lambo Field, finished in 2003. He ended games in Milwaukee, made hard calls like changing general managers, and oversaw stock sale to fund more upgrades, including the title town.
