Bills Post-Film Takeaways: Stars, Surprises & Concerns

The Buffalo Bills opened their season with a huge 36-31 road victory over the Houston Texans, and Patrick Moran went back through the All-22 film to see what stood out beyond the box score.

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick shares his biggest post-film takeaways from the win, including an impressive offensive adjustment from Joe Brady, a dominant performance from Deone Walker, a drastically different approach to the defensive line rotation and one Bills veteran emerging as an unsung hero.

Patrick discusses Buffalo's heavy use of 13 personnel, with three tight ends on the field for more than a third of the offensive snaps. After Houston's pass rush caused major problems for Buffalo previously, Joe Brady came back with a much different plan designed to give Josh Allen additional protection while keeping the Texans defense guessing.

On defense, Deone Walker looked every bit like a potential emerging star, while Greg Rousseau, Ed Oliver and Bradley Chubb were among the defensive linemen receiving significantly larger snap shares. Patrick explains why the old defensive-line rotation may be a thing of the past.
