No one knows because we don't have enough evidence for any of this. It's all guessing. I'm saying. But my guess is, here are the three teams in the AFC I'm looking at. And I'm not even saying it just because those are the three brand name quarterbacks. I won't include the bangles for example. Can I ask you a question then? Yes they are. Who? The bills. Right. Right. The bills. The chiefs. And the Ravens. Well, you can't count the chiefs. Well... Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. And one point five of the Texans. Yeah, exactly. I know. I know.

7:04I know the Texans defense and the bills defense both gave up a lot of points. Week one. The way they practice in the preseason now. What they're allowed to even do. How careful they are on defense. Defense has taken a couple of weeks to heat up. Let's play a game. Yeah. I just made this game up. What? It's called Shelf or the Deck. Okay. Did that defense lose anyone? No. No, they returned all the starters. That's why, like, giving up a million points week one. You got to throw that out. It was against Buffalo. Yeah. Yeah. And CJ Stroud, come on. He has four shots at point blank range to win that game. And he starts going backwards and takes a sack. And, you know, that was a horrible ending. But they had a chance to beat the bills. The Lions... Hmm. They don't look like the team. I thought they were going to look like right now. Well, I'll say this. So... I was rooting for the Lions. If the bill... If the score holds up... Bills, chiefs, Ravens, even though Mahomes ability to push the ball down the field we have to see as the season goes on. Does he heal up to the point that he can start, you know, doing what he used to do.

9:11Because right now it's... It's run game. It's... It's his legs. It's... Yeah, you got to give him at least. Well, it can go either way. You have to give him at least six games. Yeah, great. To really try to see where he's at. That's the measure of six six games. Right. So that's Mahomes. Lamar looks great. Lamar looks great. But he always looks great. Lamar looks a lot better. Lamar looks a lot better. He's just a two-time MVP. I'm just saying he's just... He's one of those guys that I think Lamar Jackson could play quarterback, running back, receiver, quarterback, and safety. Well, they wanted him to play all those things except quarterback. I know, I'm just... I think he can... I think he can literally... His name could be Jackson Lamar, he could be at quarterback. Yeah, he's... He's really good. And then he's turned into a great quarterback. And but for him and Josh Allen is the same thing. We have to see, you know, when the money's on the line. Well, those two guys to get to the pinnacle. Yeah. In the AFC. Yeah.

10:11They're... No excuses. Here's the nightmare scenario for those guys, though, okay? It won't be the Texans because it's... And it won't be the Browns. It won't be the Browns any time soon. In a year, if like, if Mahomes never gets back to himself, even if the Chiefs are really good in certain areas, but Mahomes just... Mahomes has a defense now. He has a lot there. But he doesn't seem to have the arm he used to have, at least not at this moment. If that doesn't happen. And also, Burrow might miss this... Like, he's saying, if I don't need surgery, I'll be on the field, but that's how banged up he is already. Right. In week two? In week two, yeah. So... Where'd I miss that? Yeah. So, in the end, kind of like, no excuses for Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, but here's the nightmare scenario for them. In the AFC. The Jags. The Jags. The Jags are good. The Jags have a good defense. And Trevor Lawrence in college was better than all these guys. He was like, considered the biggest college prospect at quarterback since Andrew Luck.

11:14He also had the best team at Clemson. He had the best team, but that same Clemson team that De Shawne Watson, you know, that was a war to get that nanny for De Shawne Watson. The next year, Trevor Lawrence carved it like Trevor Lawrence wanted a blowout. Yeah, that was... He had... And he had a good year last year and he looked good week one. Speaking of the Jags. I was just saying, don't let... Like, if you're Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, don't let Trevor Lawrence get to the punch. Don't let him get to the Super Bowl. If Mahomes is compromised and therefore the Chiefs... Like, he can't get them over the top. And Burrows hurt all year and all this. And now Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, you're on good teams, you're in your primes, no excuses, get it done. You got more for... You know, DJ more... Like, you got what you need. And so I believe that if they can get a win, it helps your confidence. And then it translates over to the next week. The practice week and then the game week. So I'm not gonna say need.

19:21I'm gonna say who would I want to win more than any would be the Texans. Because I like to take advantage of that. I feel the Texans saying it because I was a big fan of his in college. Like when he was in college. Don't watch it, Max. He's a book guy. And I thought that I was a big fan of his when he was in college. You should have been. And I thought like there was never a time in the game when he was in college. I thought they were out of it if he had the ball. Of course not. It's still high on state book guys. And as a pro, I thought it was gonna be like he'd at least have that quality. But so far it's been the opposite. And the number one thing you have to ask yourself about a quarterback is can you win a Super Bowl with him? And right now I think the Texans are wasting... Yeah, I would say... We won not with standing a Super Bowl level defense. And they're wasting it with CJ Stroud. Right now you're not wrong for saying that. But you say a lot of stuff that's just crazy. You said... Name one thing. The other day you said that Bryce Young was a bus which is out of your mind. Bryce, as a first overall pick. Hell, the man can't...

20:21He didn't have a draft pick. They drafted. Yes, but it is fair to say if you draft someone with the first overall pick. And so far they've played like Bryce Young. Right, not saying he's a bus as an NFL player. But as a number one overall draft pick, yes. But you act like he was the first overall pick to the 93 Cowboys. But you're always the first overall pick going to a terrible team. Yeah, he went to the Panthers. Always. That guy's always going to a terrible team. Right. The whole point in picking a number one is supposed to be able to turn around. Yeah, but it's not. Bowling, he can't do everything for himself. The man has to have 10 other people that he has to depend on. Yes, but... He's not... Like by now you would know if he was a franchise... How are you going to show it to you? Showing two days for a man can win his 9th. It's not too easy. Bryce Young's been playing a lot more in two days. How long has he been in the league? He's been in the league several years now. The point is if you draft a guy number one overall, particularly if you trade... Like for example, you can't say Jared Goff was a bus that number one overall

Jacksonville and Houston. I would give it five. But I don't believe in the quarterback. Yeah, but what are you considered a good team? Five hundred or... No, no, I mean, like a team that could win a Super Bowl. Okay, it's four and a half teams. The actual three teams, right? Yeah. So I would say like the dark horse for me would be Jacksonville. And Trevor Lawrence, like let's see how we perceive him and that team, like midway through the season. But right now, but in the AFC, who are the actual good teams?

26:23The Giants look good week one. I think, and I'm a crazy Giants fan. Let's just start with the realistic. Yeah, they're a year away probably. Seattle. Seattle. Yeah, Philadelphia. So Seahawks. Rams. Rams would be good. Yeah, but it's still, there's still questions. How long is Miles Garrett out? He got to the week seven or eight. What does Aaron Donald have left? And then at a certain point, like Will Matthew Stafford be the same guy at the end of the year. Like once you hit that age that he was to start the year. I think you put the Rams there. Okay, I'm not... To start the year, I thought they were the best team. I'm saying... Of course you did. What I'm saying is the Rams have to be in the conversation of one of the best teams in the AFC. And a one month later, you're back playing basketball. Right, and so to get back and end, the other thing is, the thing about winning multiple championships is everybody has to have the same level of care.

33:25Most of you have to have the same level of care, sacrifice, willingness to win, all these different things. So you do that twice. To do that and the team has to have continuity. To do that three times, now you just become a psycho. Right, you have to be... Sometimes you have to be wrong with you. And I think that... And that's... Gracie McGrady is not enough of a psycho. Trent, like, if you look at Jordan or Kobe, there's something wrong with him. You don't look at... There's nothing wrong with McGrady. There's definitely something wrong with MJ and Kobe. Right, there's something wrong with him. But McGrady is more of a normal person. I say this all the time too. There's LeBron sick too. Yeah. He sick. Obviously to keep himself in that shape. Once Mike left, it was by committee. Right. It was a committee. Yeah. And so those names are guys that...

35:27I mean, you watched those games some nights, man. But this is the thing. The reason I bring up the shack, Penny Orlando Squad, by the way. Nick Anderson and Horace Grant and... Yeah, but didn't we forget about that? Remember it forward, Dennis Scott? Like, my point is this... It is so gangster to win a championship in the NBA. It's so difficult... It is. That even shack... Just think about that starting five. That starting five is perfect. Penny, Scott, Anderson, Grant, Shack. Yes. That's perfect because Shack needs the ball, Penny needs the ball. You need other stars shooting with Anderson and Scott. Anderson and Scott, who had the dirty work guy with Horace Grant. With Horace Grant, that's come with championships. Who also has come there with... Letticability, who had touch, who had a high IQ... Like, who had won championships. That is a... It's a nearly perfect ensemble, right?

36:28And then you say, yeah, but are the Superstars talent high pitched enough? Yeah. Penny and Shack, and yet they couldn't get a single championship. Well, I'm just saying, it's not I'm not knocking them. They were young. They were young. And also, remember, I think Anderson missed the free throws. That could have been a totally different set. And it should happen. Yeah. The point is... I'm not just saying that. No, no, I'm saying it's... I used that as an example to show... Even for Shack, Penny as a second guy wasn't enough. Even for Shack, it took Kobe to be enough. But the Lakers had a great team too. They had a great team, but... And it's so hard to win. Yeah. That even if you're as great as Shack, you need someone else with you like... But it wasn't just... It won't be Bryant. Yeah, but it wasn't just Kobe. It was Kobe plus... The triangle offense that brought us forward.

37:29Get in and feel jacks. Yeah, but not just... People don't understand the triangle offense and what it does to a team's execution rate. Like if you want to look at a stat... Backed as a new stat. What is the execution rate? Yeah. You know, in terms of how many offensive possessions you had, and how many times you executed within those offensive possessions, the triangle offense does that. For all these guys that were very, very high-value, individual scoring guys that couldn't get over the hump, you put those guys in the triangle offense with the other pieces that they had on those teams. They have to... Yeah, well, you have to embrace it. You have to embrace it. You embrace it, you can't, and by the way... It requires a lot of thinking on your feet. Here's the thing. Once MJ embraced it, it's impossible for anybody else not to embrace the triangle offense. There'd be something different if you... But proof of concept. Come on, they want six. Yeah.

38:29Exactly. So there's no... Okay, so right. So what I'm saying is, was Prime McGrady better than... Prime Covey? Prime Covey? Yes, I think it was. I think he was. I think Penny may have... Well, Penny never really... Got to that level, but he didn't have time to get there. Well, like he had his shirt... We had a short, short, short sample size of Prime Penny. That's what I'm saying. He was a bad... If Penny had more... I think he was still doing this when he got hurt. So if you give him a couple more years, he probably gets to Prime McGrady. That's probably one of my biggest what is. Yeah. Penny. Right. But as it was rich, as it was, not like what it could have been, I think McGrady probably touched a higher peak than Penny. I think it was... Because he had more time to get there. But I also think McGrady was... The evolution of Penny. Right. Yeah. Yeah. I grew that too. So... A little more than Penny, I don't think quite as much as Kobe.

But remember, two, like Shaq was so gifted, and he'd say this, like if Shaq had Kobe's motor, he'd been the best player ever. Right? Once he got in his shape, you can't stop. Once in two, in the year 2000, Shaq was like, once Shaq was on the field. Like I know all these centers now are very skilled, and all you know, Shaq would wreck this league, he would wreck any league. Right now? Yeah. 35 and 18. Right. And they would let him bring the ball up sometimes. Well, that would just been for fun. You know, but if he was, if he was playing nowadays, he'd get to handle some of the sport. Of course he would. Yeah. He would go into a dribble handoff. But by the way, when it come time to win,

40:32and he duck in, and you throw that ball on the duck end, and he got you on his back, it's a wrap. It's a wrap. There's nothing else you can do. There's nothing to be done. There's nothing you can do. Right. But still, he, I think that team needed the engine of Kobe, the need to win. I think Penny and T-Mac and those guys needed social media. They needed to, because I don't think kids understand how good they, they needed social media back then, because I don't think kids understand how good those guys were. Well, I mean, by the way, I mentioned that he had more runway than Penny, but really his back gave, like, you know, if McGrady's back, if McGrady's back holds up, then you wouldn't have to say that about social media, because he would be perceived as... That's why I miss Hardwood Classic on the NBA channel. You got to bring that back. That was the educator for a lot of people that didn't get to CD's game. And the bills are one of the top ten teams, certainly in the league and probably better than that. So you got the Chiefs going back to the Super Bowl? No, no. I don't know what's going to happen with Mahomes.

48:32Well, you said if you're sitting on the beat, the bills? No, I'm saying I don't... If it... So it's been now a year and a game since Mahomes has been able to push the ball down the field. It's only a short pass. We can't wait till week six. Right. A lot of short passes. If Mahomes is a game manager who can run, I don't think they're going to get past the bills. If Mahomes goes back to being the Mahomes from two years ago, yeah, that they might be the best team in football. But we just don't know what Mahomes is and we can see what Josh Allen is. He's as good as he's ever been. And Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are both peaking right now. This bill's team looks extremely confident. Their body language looks extremely confident.
