About this episode
Imagine a football team whose coaching philosophy centered on one issue: “Don’t get penalties!” The players would be so focused on avoiding penalties that you’d end up with a team of hesitant guys worried they shouldn’t play too hard. The team would be terrible. Many pastors and leaders take a similar approach in speaking to men. They berate men for not being good husbands or fathers, for looking at porn, for over-eating, over-drinking… the list goes on. Yes, those are issues that need to be addressed, but this shame and guilt-based approach does nothing but produce shame-ridden men. In this episode, Stephen proposes a different way, one that offers a vision for noble manhood.
