1:01You know what? I saw it this morning, actually. And I don't know why, but it was the first time I've seen it a while. And I had this thought right away. I was like, this play seems to make a lot more sense now that we know more about Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll, you know, 10 years later, 11 years later, whatever it is. Yeah, just the just don't not running the ball. Not running the ball. I still I stood to make a pretty penny. I had the Seahawks. Yeah, me too. Me too. And that happened. 2:01Yeah. And then kind of everything's gotten sandwiched down. So yeah, everywhere is four and a half or five. You make a bet. Yep. No, I did not did not. Well, actually, I did make a bet. A bet. I did not bet side or total. I bet over on Drake May's rushing yards, which I was listening to a sharp money podcast. I got to patch about her and Mike Sommetcha on my way in the, uh, Mike said it. I'm sure you didn't, but let's, uh, let's go through a, uh, guessing line style. Uh, after, uh, Denver's first drive with Jared Stidem where he got rid of it just in time on third, uh, third dad had disaster written all over it with Elijah Ponder in pursuit of them. And then New England from their own eighth, three and out where it looked like Talonovo Fungo was going to pick off Drake May. Denver gets the ball. They go five place, 59 yards and just one minute and 41 seconds. Third play, third and 10 of their own 41. Stidem deep to Mims, junior for 52 to the New England, 72 plays later. Stidem to Sutton from six out seven and nothing Broncos. Stidem strutting off the field. The Broncos would never score again. It's just less than five minutes and seven and nothing Broncos. Um, then, uh, a little later on, two more, uh, not the next possession of the Broncos, but the one after that from their own 43, five play, third and three at the New England, 40, Stidem great out past a little Jordan Humphrey for five, six plays later.

4:05After a Stidem five yard gain, fourth and one at the New England, 14. Weather's nice. Ish at this point. They asked you the field goal would have been about a 32 yarder. Stidem under pressure, in completed tentative for Harvey, never had a chance. Now, in the moment, now I know a lot of people are killing Sean Payne for this. No one dislike Sean Payne more than I do. But was it really that ridiculous of a play called you and I have not discussed this at all. We did not text about it yesterday. No, we have not discussed it. I feel like I'm on a bit of an island of, I have no problem with it at all. I didn't have any problem with it at all. It's easy to say now. Of course it is. We debated after the game as in the fourth quarter, we debated. Did they know the weather was coming? Next time Denver has the ball, third and fourth. They're on 33 Stidem who had been really flirt with disaster all game with this weird east west. I'm going to throw it. I'm not going to throw it. Oh my God. What's going to happen? Sort of thing. He's sacked by Christian Ellis. Ball goes out of his hands is initially ruled intentional grounding. But on review, it's called a backwards pass. 11:21This will be the 12th of the Patriots as Robert Kraft improbably has the Patriots as an owner back in the Super Bowl six years only six years after Tom Brady and only two years after Bella check. But a late flag on reek woolen for taunting. The Rams bench extends the drive. Very next play. Stafford to Nakua from 34 out.

20:33Touchdown 31 27. 206 left in the third quarter. Did you want the Rams to have tried for two. On one of these to cut it to three. I thought about it quickly. I did too. Not really. This is the play. Darnell to cup right at the sticks extends the ball. Rule the first down. McVay decides not to challenge. But he uses the second time out. Should have challenged it. Could have been could have been just short.

So I think that's good for about several more months where until the start of the 2026 college football season coming August. But yeah, great experience. I got to go on a hell of a ride from coast to coast all over the country to support this team and ended up with that great result in Miami. And to have more fans in their house, I think was kind of like icing on the cake. It's like we're going everywhere to support this team. Now people will say, oh, you didn't fill the stadium on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington when it was below zero temperatures, by the way, back home in Indiana. So, you know, a lot of other fan bases coping with the fact that we have new college football overlords and they're based in Bloomington, Indiana. Wow. College football overlords. Yeah. So I think that like they should take your championship away now, Wes, because you didn't fill it in the cold. So I get the feeling you we talked about this little off air that it's finally sinking in.

28:38It's no longer surreal. But does here is the real question moving forward to next year. They like legitimately have a shot at this again. Don't they? Given schedules. Yeah, I think so, Gil. And I think that's why they're one of the favorites with the usual suspects with the Ohio team. I think that's why they're one of the favorites in the Notre Dame's and the Oregon's and the Georgia's. What have you? They're one of the shorter prices because, by the way, they have one quarterback that's now likely to be the number one overall pick in the NFL draft. So who do they bring into replace him? The number one active leading passer in college football. That's Josh Hoover from TCU. So you're bringing in the talent. The schedule, like you said, even though we don't have the order of it is relatively permissible because you look too kind of semi-difficult road games, but against Michigan, who has a first-year head coach and against Washington. So the schedule does kind of set up a little bit for Indiana, at least to make a return to the playoff and let alone perhaps go back to back for the national championship. And Signeti Kurt Signeti feels like he's the best coach in college football by a mile, doesn't he?

29:43He should. He absolutely should. Like he got to do this in two years. We were all kind of getting some guff from Notre Dame people saying, oh, Indiana doesn't deserve it. Well, I was like, well, hey, listen up, Notre Dame. You have every resource in the world, your own television contract, and you've been trying to do since 1988 what Kurt Signeti got done in two years at Indiana. So how does that taste Notre Dame? How does that just, by the way, how do you, how do you feel about this? Oh, if Notre Dame is ranked in the top 12, they're automatically in a rule that they've just instituted. This is ridiculous. What a joke. Well, they get their cake. They get their cake and eat it too. And, you know, which is what they've always wanted. And they're not want to join a conference because they got the deal with NBC and all of that. Yeah, I think it's, I think it's ridiculous to have like an exception to the rule. You, you take the 12 teams and then you go play the games. I, I don't agree with it at all. Okay, let's go to the NFL. Before we get to, before we move it forward to the Subaru, I just want to get your thoughts on, on some of the things that happened yesterday.

30:44Did you have any problem with any of these? Let's start with the New England Denver game. Did you have a problem in the moment with Sean Peyton going forward on fourth and one? Is chewing the field will try that could have put them up 10 to nothing? Or did that in the, in the moment seem like the proper thing to do for you? Well, in the moment because we see him do it all the time. Yeah. You know, they're going to go forward on fourth and short like every single time. In the moment, it didn't seem as egregious because you have the number one offensive line. DFF, of course, does a position grades in Denver was number one. And I think any metric would have rated them as one of the better offensive lines in the league. So it's like, okay, can I trust these guys up front to pick up a yard? So, so I understand that at the same time. You know, the weather that was coming in, it's like, well, do you take as many points as you can? I can understand the criticism, but I can also understand going for it in that situation. I think maybe the fairer criticism of Sean Peyton might be some of the play calling,

31:45being that he's one of the elite play callers in the league. And I thought, you know, kind of baby to guy and Jared stood in who I know is a drop from Bonix. But he's been in the system for three years. And it's like, yeah, to trust him maybe a little bit more in that situation is difficult as that is to do. Yeah, that's a good, you know, one thing I didn't mention when going over the game. I didn't, you know, I thought the biggest plays the Patriots made obviously besides the Stidem Fumble, which was the biggest of a big. But on offense were the Drake May runs, right? He knew the proper moments to tuck it under and run. And I don't know if Stidem didn't have the instinct to do that, wasn't coached up to do that, but it seemed to me that in that kind of weather, that was always your bailout played and that stick out to you as well. It did for me and look, he's not as mobile or athletic as Bonix, but you got to think you got to have some QB runs. I think a little bit in the game considering the fact that new England's like impossible to run on. And that's what's been impressive about the Patriots.

32:45I think I was just adding it up opposing running backs by the way in the playoffs against the Patriots 46 runs for 112 yards. So nobody's been able to run on these guys. So you got to get a little bit more creative. I think in the running game and maybe use that quarterback a little bit more. What about in the Ram Seahawks game? Do you have any problem with going for it? Fourth and fourth, the sixth instead of kicking a field goal or anything else in that game coaching wise? I was 50, 50 on it because I understand why McVeigh doesn't feel like he can trust his defense at that point when you've given up 31 points. At the same time, you got three timeouts in the two minute warning. You know, you made you you cut it to one. I had a problem with McVeigh not going for two on the second touchdown. That was because you know you're going to need another touchdown. I thought that was egregious to make it 31 26 and then he kicks the extra point again. It's like, man, at some point you're going to have to go for two because you're going to have to need another touchdown. I'm pleased to meet these guys. So yeah, I thought that was a little egregious.

33:46And then I thought taking the time out before challenging the Cooper Cup where it looked like he was short. Or did he have control of the ball? You got to challenge that right away. And if you lose your time out, you're going to take it anyway at that point. So McVeigh, I thought, you know, for a guy that's won the Super Bowl. I thought the two veteran coaches were the ones that were a little bit iffy. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's really interesting what Arizona's been able to do, you know, gets quadrant one and quadrant two opponents. When they're a team that shoots three is it about the lowest rate in the country. They're 360 second in the nation in three point rate. And yet it doesn't really seem to matter. You know, they're still finding all kinds of ways to win games. They're very efficient on two point shots, very efficient all the way around defensively. You know, I do think that their lack of shooting threes will come into play at some point and maybe in a game like tonight where you've got to

38:00scheme at home that shoots a three about 40% of the time. So I could see tonight being a good data point for BYU. But I mean, Arizona again, just defensively, they've been so good in the fact that their low volume of threes has not hurt them to this point. I have a hard time believing that it does. So I think this game is lined pretty accurately. I think this game is lined pretty fairly. I won't be super surprised with any sort of outcome in this one. But it is something I am watching going forward with Arizona where they're shot selection. I mean, as long as they can get to the rim, then they're okay. But there will be a matchup at some point where they can't, whether it's in the regular season or in the NCAA tournament. And I think that's going to be the type of game where they struggle. So we'll see how they play tonight. But I think this line is pretty accurate. I was going to say if Arizona wins this, do we, do we shift to undefeated talk, but they have way too many tough games still in front of them to because they have BYU again, right? After this, they got Houston. Yeah, there's no, we will not shift into that kind of talk

39:01quite yet. What do you have tonight? What is your play? All right. So this is a real, real deep dive here. In fact, we're still getting games postponed on today's schedule due to the winter storm. And that's something I want to mention real quickly here that, you know, teams that have had games rescheduled, teams that have had games postponed due to this, you know, winter storm that we've had. There's going to be some bad travel spots, whether it's this week or going forward where they try to fit these games that have been canceled into the schedule or they've maybe been moved to the point where, you know, we saw a Western Illinois team have to play a back-to-back against Eastern Illinois last weekend and they got completely trucked in that game. I mean, they got beaten by 40 by a really, really bad Southern Indiana team. So, you know, that's one where the schedule kind of played a little bit of a factor. They had a long bus trip overnight and got blown out. These things will be a possibility here with the winter storm. And again, we are still having some games canceled here today. But Central Connecticut and Stonehill, my game tonight, I swear to you, these are actual institutions of higher learning. I didn't make this up.

40:04Stonehill on the blue doubles of Central Connecticut, the Skyhawks of Stonehill. So, these two teams actually played on January 8th and Stonehill had a 95% rim and three rate in the game. Now, they lost 76 to 69. But if they're going to have similar shot selection, get to the rim a lot, have a higher volume of threes than Central Connecticut. I think you can cover this game getting four and a half at home. The other thing is this total is 135 and a half. These two teams played 18 days ago and they got to 145. Now, the last three games have been pretty low scoring for Stonehill. I actually very, very low scoring. But Central Connecticut's last three games, they've been horrific on defense, giving up well over 1.2 points per possession. So, I played over 135 and a half and Stonehill plus the four and a half in this one where guys were starting to get rematches. We've got a data point between these two teams. Yes, adjustments will be made. But if you look at the box score from the first game, you should be able to find something that you can play on and maybe find an edge in the second game. Stonehill skyhawks from Kelly. Oh, I have no idea. Connecticut. That's well.

Um, initially, I think Seattle's probably still a little bit too low at four and a half. Um, what they've done, what they've done with their strength, the schedule, their metrics all the way around are just so incredibly impressive. Sam Darnold's been really,

Um, it has thrown a few interceptions here and there, but if he takes care of the football, to me, I think it's going to be very hard for New England here in this game. I give the Patriots a lot of credit, but again, you know, they've been stymied in the last two games offensively. Now, mother nature didn't really help. An old man winter, you know, played a role too, but I don't know. They don't create any explosive plays. They have to have Drake May bailed them out on third downs with scrambles. Like, Seattle's just a much, much better team to me. So I fully expect this line to go up and I think it'll be justified. Wow, mother nature and old man winter. It's right. Both of them.
