Belmont Hires Alum Evan Bradds as Head Coach

0:00On March 19, Belmont University has hired 31-year-old Evan Bradz as the new head coach for its men's basketball team. Bradz joins from Duke where he served as an assistant coach and he's a Belmont alum who holds the school's all-time scoring record in the division. One era with 1,921 points. Earlier this week on March 19, the school made the announcement. Bradz starred for Belmont from 2013 to 2017, earning two Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year awards and leading. The nation and field goal percentage during his sophomore and junior years. Leaders at Belmont are excited about the hire. President Greg Jones praised Bradz for his accomplishments as a player and academic All-American, along with his passion and reputation in coaching. Athletic director Scott Corley called him one of the brightest minds in basketball today. Before Duke last year, Bradz spent five seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz.

1:01There he focused on video analysis, player development, and even led the Jazz's summer league team in 2023. Bradz replaces Casey Alexander, who left after seven seasons to coach at Kansas State. With his mix of college stardom and pro experience, he's set to build on Belmont's strong tradition right away.
