This is a remake based on the 1967 version that started Dudley Moore and now started Brenden Frasier about Hopeless dweeb Elliot Richards is granted seven wishes by the Devil to snare Allison, the girl of his dreams, in exchange for his soul.
If like this I recommend a similar movie to this called Hunk from 1987 which is pretty much the same movie but with a California setting.
