The Grammys had a special tribute last night for the legendary California surf band The Beach Boys. I have not watched award shows for decades, but I could not get away from The Grammys last night as modern musicians sang covers of the classic Beach Boys songs while the actual Beach Boys looked on from the balcony in deep appreciation. I was moved to tears numerous times--for gratitude and in angst over what has happened to the Golden State I was born into and loved for decades...here are some deep surf thoughts...
