As every Friday, we are going to welcome the great Sat Yn Yangi to the show. As the new co-host on Friday's set, I appreciate you being here. How are you, buddy? I'm good. Yeah. This show was bits in nothing on this show.

1:03It's a bunch of nonsense. Especially as I was telling you off there, Friday's. When Joel was here, he'd talk about TNA and nobody wants to talk about TNA. And so like now Fridays, I don't know what we're gonna do. We're just gonna bullshit more than we already do on this show. So I'm very excited for new Fridays and not having to talk about TNA. Well, I'm a kind of guy that basically, all I did was bits at WrestleTalk. I was known for having bits when I did the news and stuff like that. But it's been a while since I've done bits and the fact that Fridays kind of like uncensored that we can talk about anything we want to do. People see in the background, yeah, WMunday, Nitro, like growing up, I was a WWE fan, but also a WWE fan. And then how I discovered WWE was very, very funny. It was like an advert on ITV. I don't know if you've ever been to the UK, Jeremy. No, no, I have not. So there's a channel back in the days in the UK. We used to have like four channels.

2:05Then it got to five and obviously with smart TV, you got an abundance of channels. But on the third channel, which is ITV, it had an advert for WCW. And featured there were like Rick Flair, the Steiner Brothers and Lex Lugo. And this was $9.93. And I was like the narcissist, the Steiner Brothers and Rick Flair. And then, and it dawned on me. You have to remember, I started watching wrestling when I was like two years old. So for me, it's almost like I've got veteran status for someone kind of young. So I remember a lot of stuff. So for me, as a free year old, trying to comprehend like, okay, Lex Lugo and Rick Flair and the Steiner Brothers used to be in WCW. That's what I started to understand is another company and it's more than WWF. Wrestling is more. And I mean, I was so obsessed with wrestling, dice to what sumo wrestling on your sports. And even in Japan, I watched 90s in Japan. And at Ludwig Borger in it, beta, Hulk Hogan. And I remember Hulk had a partner that was an animal.

3:07It was here with it. It was power warrior. Was the name of, you know, Kenskis, Suzuki's pseudonym for that. So yeah, I watched a lot of wrestling. And even like Triple A or Triple A, I watched that in the 90s as well. So I was very much a hardcore wrestling fan from a very, very young age, formative stage of my life. JR helped me my vocabulary. I watched Baywatch. I was in love with Pamela Anderson. I, you know, so yeah, I was very much into the American culture in the 90s. So even from the UK, there's a lot of references of American culture that I pretty much get basically. Ryan says, I love the ITW feature. Two people living in the UK, but only one with an English accent. Yes, SV3, Harlem has a better English accent than he does. Harlem is full on Brit. That's crazy. 5:10Alvarez did not catch on. Alvarez became too expensive is what happened. So we used to do this set of like a year or so ago, and we get a cameo from Brian Alvarez. And he would bury whoever, that was the message I would tell him. I was like, please bury this person for being a giant dork and just being in our chat too often. And Alvarez would do like a four minute burial of somebody which is it was so, so good. And it only cost $10. I was like, this is worth it. But then he upped this price to like $20 or $25. I'm big leaking. Yeah, I can't pay $20, $25. Alvarez a month, just a, just a bury, anybody. Yeah, he only buried Zeno Hour because Zeno Hour was the biggest dork on the show. And he got Carlos Silver, where his fucking name is, in his cup chair, sitting in the corner and I don't know, bending over for TKO and letting Triple H stick his big nose up in there and telling him what to do. And then we did it about Carlos Silver and then Maclin did it on TV. So Maclin may never give us credit for it. It may be we got to load him up on True Serum or something. And I felt like we'll be 10 years removed and unless a wrestling historian corrects people, anyone can take credit for Meet because they won't let Biggie do it. But Biggie is the reason why Meet became synonymous with Big Guys. So we need to be synonymous with Cuck Chairs. If anything were for synonymous with anything, it is Cuck Chairs. So I love all the young up-and-comers. I've always been fan of developmental dating back to OVW. I was in my teenage years or going to OVW website. I'm like, who's they viewing? I look at the website, you start looking at the roster pictures. I'm like, he could make it. He could probably make it. Ah, Cody Reynolds. That's Godos's brother. Oh my gosh, I hope you make it. Legit, that was me. Then FCW, it was like a YouTube channel, they'll play FCW matches. You see Mason Ryan, oh my gosh, well, Spatista. How's that gonna work in the main roster? 13:23But that one's a bit skinnier. That's really like Rikishi. J.U. So, yeah, I was all up in there, man. Like I've always loved developmental. I like knowing who the next rest is going to be. I like investing in my stock quite early. I like to be on the ground floor, seeing the rest of the grow and flourish. Kind of like you guys were your college football, your college basketball, wherever it is. I like to be with that with wrestlers, developmental guys, I'm like, that's my guy. Yeah, say corn sugar, that's my guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, but for me, that's my guy, see? I was just right about him. Ryan, Ryan asked an important question. What are your views on Thea Hale? I love Thea Hale when she was going to chase you. She reminded me of a female crash holly and then they didn't capitalize on that charm of being that little bit of a scrappy dude. Yes. Kind of character. And it felt like once they did the whole, I'm a grown-ass woman kind of arc she went through. They kind of like lost what made her special. And to think that she got signed, we should like what 19.

14:24She was what, 22 years old. And if you told me her only success is an accidental North American type of rain. I would have said, you're crazy. Like she reeks of WWE backstage segments and promos. She's a kind of person. You would have seen hanging up with Dan Housen, Santino's latest girlfriend, you know, you name it. She would have flourished in any era of WWE. So it's kind of like befuddled me that she's kind of languishing in developmental. So I'm a feel, feel hell fan, have been from day one. She helped make chase you palatable because you had Bodie Haywood, wherever his name was back in the days. Hey Mr. Chase, he's I white meat baby face, you know, but it didn't really for me. It didn't really get anyone to she joined and she added a dynamic that made everyone in the group kind of charming. So yeah, feel hell guy, all the way. All right, you're continued to welcome here. 15:26I come running after that match with Roxanne a couple of years ago, and they just like took her off TV for like eight months. Like what are we doing? She says it's great match with Roxanne Perez. Now she's just off television. We I wanted to have all the television time and all the championships. And fortunately, they just don't see it quite the same way. It's very sad. The she had that brief alliance with Joe Henry, which I enjoyed, which showed you that she's still got. Like I think probably she should be with Shalo Hill. Chris Shalo Hill had such a great dynamic, you know, with Tate and Paxley. And now with Tate and Paxley gone, he probably needs a new, you know, buddy to hang out with. And I feel like Fia and Shalo could potentially have a cool dynamic. 17:27you got to be 60 plus the book and 40 plus to be a champion. You know, sometimes even 45 plus to be the champion. It's an old man's game. It's a Ponzi scheme called the future. If you get laid with the future, run away. It's a Ponzi scheme. You get nowhere being called the future. You don't believe me? I asked Austin, you had a theory. Austin Viery, he will have... 19:30I was like, oh, thank you, Jesus. I don't have to fucking sit down for too long. And then Oberfemme came along in a trick and called mello. Like there's more guys, but at one point, I was scared about the future of WWE. Because I keep saying it. If you as a Hill are not over or can't listen any sort of an emotion in me, I think you suck as a baby face. Keep saying, oh my gosh, Austin Ferry is gonna have a great face run, really? He sucked as a Hill. That's what I'm saying. In the K-Guy suck as a baby face. Like for me, there's no redeeming quality. 21:34And then Mike Yves saying Dave should drop the Maya 3 1 1 2 after the five star from Mercedes and Willow. It is, I don't know if you've seen Dave's ratings for today, but he did give Mercedes and Willow five stars. Are you kidding me? No, no, no, no. They got five. But so, you know, he is not given the rating for Maya and Mercedes yet. And I don't know if he ever will. We don't get that. I don't say she did it. That's very fair. But now I'm worried that like, maybe it would have been a four and a half, four and three quarters match. I don't think he was ever going to give it five. But maybe it would have been higher. But now he's going to think like, well, this isn't as good as Willow and Mercedes. So it can't be this high. Like now he has a comparison bar. It's been two pay-per-view cycles for A.E.W. since this match happened. I just don't think he's ever going to do it at this point. No, it might be a recurring bit that we're going to. Like, I hope that he at least rates it in my lifetime.

22:37Because you know, in this weird world, you know when that expiration date's coming up, not to be bleak, but come on, Dave, we're not getting any younger. We need to know. I need to know because you know the way fingers are, right? Like people will say, I don't know, how do you feel about star ratings? How do you feel about Dave Meltzer being a barometer for star ratings? So I think SP3 has the best star ratings. Long time, long time wrestling readers may have heard of Larry Zonka, who sadly passed away during COVID. But I was good friends with him. And I thought he also had really the best star ratings at the time. OK. I think Dave, it's just Dave's opinion on things. I don't like mind what he says. Like he's completely gone over his own scale and everything to where like, I think Osprey and Omega got like seven stars or six and a half or something. And it's like, OK, fine. Like I get it. It was a great match like it legitimately. And I'm not sad. I apologize in advance.

23:39I'm not like super biggest Will Osprey fan in the world. I think he's fantastic. I think he's fantastic. Don't get me wrong. I'm just a bit of a difference. One of the best pieces of just production I've ever seen. But he'll do too many kickouts and stuff for me. The closing sequence sequences can be too much for me. Didn't have that in this match. This match was perfect. My system is a check plus system. And this was a check plus plus match for me, which I don't just hand out there. But as far as like Dave's ratings, it's his opinion. I don't think people should freak out and put as much stock as they do. And then honestly, anybody can create their own rating system. Dave has the, I think he's a great historian. He's watched more wrestling than the majority of us. But it's like, OK, he gave the match five stars. Cool. I don't see the point of arguing over any of this. I see a eloquent way.

24:41I appreciate how you explained it. Thank you, Jeremy. Dave, for me, I see that he's the guy who paved the way. Without Dave, there would be no us. So I give him respect on one hand there. On the second is like what you said, is one man's opinion. But I treat Dave star rating as more like a barometer. If anything, it's kind of like, yeah. What should I check out sort of things? In the same way, like I would use Rotten Tomatoes or letterbox, or whatever, pitchfork for music. It's not like, oh, I'm going to take the criticism to heart. It's just that there's only so much time in a day to do anything, to listen, to watch, wherever. Sometimes you need a shorthand to be like, what's the worry of my time? What is everyone talking about? What's good? Because there's so much wrestling nowadays. It takes a good, it goes to a point where you're like, all right, there's too much wrestling. I can't watch everything in one week. Like Dave, I'll get to it eventually.

25:42But right now, let me know what is, what's hip? There's the kids would say, what's hip dude? What's going on in the streets? What can I watch? What can I check out? And that's why Dave from his barometer for that. Especially for like, Joshi and what's going on in Japan. Because there's so much that, I don't have the, I'm not subscribed to any platform wherever it is. I do find my way to watch him, but it's like, I need to know. It's like, okay, who's the heart start there? Who should I watch? So that's why I use Dave for. But when it comes to his opinion, like, it's like a pinch of salt. It's kind of like that uncle that you love and respect, but you don't always agree with their opinion. It's like that with Dave sometimes. Sometimes he's got good takes and who's got okay takes. But at the end of the day, there are his takes. And I respect him for what he means to the wrestling space. But yeah, he's not the be your end all. Like if you never give Crangle Firestars, that's okay. I still think Crangle is one of the best of all time. One of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Rock is one of my faves, you know, I don't know if he's ever rate rock five stars in a match,

26:43but, you know, I'm trying to think. Yeah, I was trying to think if like any of the Austin matches got five stars, but I don't think so. Like a lot of that, that WWE stuff, like never got five stars. Yeah. And which is fine. I think rock is one of the best, best in ring big match wrestlers of all time. I blame him in Austin for creating kickouts. Because if everyone wants to know when, when did that become a thing? Yeah. Finish a spam multiple kickouts was Austin and Rock's like, you know, bread and butter to blame them. Yeah, people saying the same thing about cage match and drop kicked it. That's what I largely use cage match for outside of it being a great research. What? What now hold on, hold on. Who? Why is this person here? Who? Who's here? Very uninvited. Somebody who I strongly dislike, so I have no idea why they are just randomly

What about Dwayne? What about Dwayne? Dwayne has never gotten five stars from Uncle Dave as far as me. The closest is WrestleMania 17 with Austin. I gave that four and three quarters. I said, what's the question to Jeremy that I blame Austin and Rockford finish your spams and the multiple kickouts becoming a thing in the 2010s, 2020s. Do you agree that did it? As much as great when they did it. But you look like any great moments kind of like Rickish A and Osprey. As much as you love that moment, you're like, oh shit, all those copycats are going to come out and it's going to be a photocopy form. More. Yeah. You're onto something but more of the user opponents finisher spam. That you know, like we just got that we got a little bit of that in

30:49Osprey and Omega where they use where they use each other as finisher. That's Austin and in rock influence more than anything. There you go. You agree? I'm okay with like kicking out like if you use your finisher, the opponents finisher against them. I'm okay with kicking out of that because it just kind of shows like, yeah, you don't do it as good as this person. I don't like the, you know, the suspect. 59:44Disappointed was the first thing that went through my mind when I read the reports yesterday. It's a simple fact that since she come back post pandemic because you could argue and say that she's one of the bright spots of the pandemic with Mercedes at the time, Sasha Banks. But it also felt like she has never been given the opportunity to be a focal point when the crowd work in the stands. Yeah, it's fine to be one of the main characters, one of the main people doing the pandemic. Heck, even Apollo Crews got to win two mid-core titles in the pandemic. That goes to show you that no one was turned up to work when they gave them the title. That's not an adiss. I'm happy that he's had the accolade. Before he got released, we knew it was inevitable. But with Bailey, it felt like Becky had a moment. Becky, to me, was my go of the four-horse women.

1:00:46She was the one that felt I always get towards the underdogs. And I felt like when Becky's performing to that triple threat with Sasha and Charlotte, I was like, you know what? She's got something and then she became the man and the rest of history and stuff like that. For me, Becky was my go. And then I love Sasha since NXT. I love Hagar Bailey. I felt like she was going to be the second coming of John Cena. She should have had initially as a baby face, but it just didn't set the World of Fires champion. I like Nia Jax. I do like that. I do feel like Nia Jax has done a great job to get herself into ring shape. She's better than what she was in the first run.
