It's March 31st. Welcome to Entertainment and Celebrity News today, powered by AI. I'm Cory with the story. Sean Combs, aka Diddy, just got a small break on his prison time. The Federal Bureau of Prisons bunt his release date up by 10 days to April 15th, 2028. This follows another cut of over a month a few weeks back, after earlier shifts from June 4th to late April. He's serving a 50-month sentence for two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution, convicted last summer in New York. The jury cleared him of heavier charges like sex trafficking and racketeering that could have meant life behind bars. Before sentencing, Diddy spent about a year locked up in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center since bail got denied. Prosecutors pushed for over 10 years, but his team wanted just 14 months, calling the verdict of partial win. Now he's in a drug we have program that could earn him good behavior credits. His legal fight ain't done yet.
Lawyers appealed the conviction and sentence last December, saying the acts were consensual and the punishment to stiff. Prosecutors fired back last Friday, urging the appeals court to uphold everything, pointing to his history of violence and control. Or arguments hit the U.S. Court of Appeals on April 9th, so keep an eye on that, it could change the whole game for him.
