Baker-Mazara Leaves USC, Trojans on Losing Streak

The team announced its Sunday, nearly a year after he helped Auburn make the final four. The 26-year-old graduate student from the Dominican Republic was their second leading score this season. He started 22 of 26 games for the struggling Trojans. In Saturday's loss to No. 12 Nebraska, he scored 14 points in 16 minutes of first half play before leaving early in the second half. After a hard fall on the baseline, USC gave no reason for his departure in their short statement. The guard ended up sitting on the baseline near the bench, chatting with others during the rest of the game. Coach Eric Musselman explained it was just due to a lack of chairs. Baker-Mazzar has bounced around five college programs. He started at Duquesne, earned six-man honors at San Diego State, played at Northwest Florida State College, spent two years at Auburn, and joined USC for his final season.
