Australia's Paralympic Flag-Bearers: Tudhope & Gunew

0:00In Adelaide, it's March 5th and here's what is going on. Ben Tud Hope and Georgia Gone have been chosen as Australia's flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Winter Games. The event takes place at the Verona Arena this Saturday morning, Australian Eastern Daylight Time, with the games running through March 15th. Tud Hope is heading to his fourth Winter Paralympics. He grabbed a bronze medal in Paris Snowboarding at the 2022 Beijing Games, which was Australia's lone medal there. At just 26 years old, he holds the record as the first Australian Winter Paralympian, or Olympian, to earn 50 World Cup medals. He first competed at age 14 in Sochi, back in 2014, making him the youngest athlete from any nation at those games. Tud Hope says, the Paralympic Village feels totally equal, where everyone focuses purely on elite performance, regardless of their challenges. Meanwhile, Guneo is set for her Paralympic debut and pair Alpine skiing, guided by Ethan Jackson.
