Dr. Brent Gentzel is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Kaufman, TX, where he has served since August of 2000. He attended Hardin-Simmons University and majored in Bible and history, where he graduated as the Logsdon Scholar. He also received his Masters and PhD from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. After completing his Ph.D. course work in August of 2000, Dr. Gentzel came to the pastorate in Kaufman. In addition, he is the founder of Sodalis, a network of thriving churches across Texas that represents over 25,000 congregants. He has been married to his wife, Julie, for 32 years, and they have two sons, Stephen and Ryan.
