Non-residents pay a small fee though $1 to enter $3 to park but locals get in free keeping things fair and funded. Folks in town are loving how it nods to the past. This spot used to be Max Beach started back in 1922 by the McDowell brothers as a simple hangout for cooks and lake views. City leaders kept an nostalgic feel alive in the redesign. Parks director Cody McGee says it's all about blending history with modern fun. Drawing people back to the water's edge like always.
