City officials say the service is on hold with no set end date. The main provider, Decatur, has stopped taking materials from other towns like Athens because of ongoing equipment problems. Superintendent Terrence Brown reached out to Florence for backup, but they cannot handle the extra load right now. Brown urges residents to put recycling bins out with their regular trash or drop off items themselves at the local center. That spot is the Limestone County Recycling Center at 1301 North Jefferson Street, where everything must be sorted into the right bins.
