About this episode
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friends. Pro 27:17
You've heard many people, even me, say "you're the average of your five closest friends" or something similar.
Proverbs 27:17 said it first and best: Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
We NEED people around us who push us to become more of who God made us to be. People who can bring out our natural gifts and skills.
A good friend will:
- Listen when you need to talk
- Have your back, yet hold you accountable
- Be honest with you and tell you like it is
- Respect your boundaries, yet help you stretch your comfort zone
- Celebrate your successes without stealing your moment
- Respect your differences as complementary strengths
- Sharpen you like iron sharpens iron
Those things and more are the results of a strong community of diverse friends.
I created an online community for men that's doing those things and more. We're small, but growing. We're pushing each other to be the best that we can possibly be, so we can create the greatest possible impact with our lives.
I'd love for you to join us.
