Arteta's Bruno decision + Tzolis or Eze vs Chelsea?

I think judging by the comments on yesterday's video, I may have said in yesterday's video that it was Thursday. It's of course not. It is now yesterday, of course, it wasn't. So thank you for everyone pointing that out. I think that was just a bit of a tired tired me after a Trans-Headed Deadline ended the day before. But it is Thursday today, which means we are now drawing ever closer to the weekend. Of course, we've got our tennis press conference ahead of that game against Chelsea is tomorrow at London Colony and later on today, myself and James Bench will be getting together for inside-ass and all extra time. Still got bits and pieces to discuss today. Just round up a few sort of things that are still left hanging from Trans-Headed Deadline Day and then we're going to move on to the Chelsea game because Plenty to talk about there. Some interesting decisions facing Michaela Teter, I would say, for that Chelsea game in terms of what he does with his team selection. Got some comments and questions from you guys as well. So just rounding up all things from Trans-Headed Deadline Day, Reese Nelson, of course, who had his contract terminated by Arsenal after a win by a mutual consent. He has now signed for final that happened yesterday. So congratulations to Reese. Obviously spent the time there on loan early on in his career one as an Arsenal, but has now signed a permanent deal with Final. Good move for him. Good club, big club. Fantastic fan base, big proper noisy stadium, really good atmosphere over there.

2:10Like I said, a big, big club as well. So that's a good move for Reese Nelson. Obviously Arsenal will get any money for it because that contract termination was agreed a few days earlier. But Reese Nelson has now signed for final. In terms of Gabrielle Martinelli, we're still waiting for confirmation that medical was yesterday. Apparently that medical was all completed fine. Now we're just waiting for confirmation of that move. Simone Zaggy, the manager over there at Al-Halla, was speaking at his press conference saying that he could be around for the weekends game. I think they got a game coming up this weekend and he could be involved in that. So we're still waiting for confirmation on that 60 million pound deal being confirmed. I'm not looking forward to it. I know it's needed. Awesome. Needed to make a big sale. But as I've said on the channel for just kind of not looking forward to confirmation that Martinelli is no longer an Arsenal player. It's just been one of my favourite Arsenal players in this team for a long, long time. It's going to be a sad day to see him go necessary. I think the time is probably right

3:11for everyone to go separate ways. But it's still going to be pretty painful to say goodbye together with my earlier. I'm sure he's going to do a nice good bye message and stuff like that, which would be a pretty emotional one. But anyway, still waiting for confirmation on Martinelli's move. So that's about it. Transfer window wise, obviously there was a lot of reflection yesterday, certainly on social media. And cross various sort of websites and other YouTube channels and stuff about the transfer window. Everyone's been having this say on it, which is always the case after transfer window. But the one thing is now it is shut. There's nothing we can do about it anymore. Did we want another attacker? Yes, I think we all would have said yes. We would have wanted another attacker. The fact is it hasn't happened. So as much as a lot of us have disappointed by that and frustrated by that, nothing we can do now, apart from just get behind a team and hopefully we've got enough. And there's a big, big game on Sunday. So everyone needs to start focusing on that as well, because that's obviously a huge match against Chelsea at the Emirates. Right. We'll turn our tensions to that match. Shall we for the sort of main part of today's show? Because I think Michele's got some

4:13really interesting decisions to make with his team selection. Asden Villa, I always thought was probably going to be unchanged from the commentary game. I don't think this one's going to be unchanged. I'll be surprised if it is. I think Michele will make some changes potentially a few for this game. So we're going to go over them here. I'd love to get your thoughts in terms of what you think Michele should do for this game in terms of his team selection. So let me know in the comments. Not pull someone together and get them included in tomorrow's show. I think one of the big decisions. Maybe even the biggest decision he's got to make is in midfield. I think we'll get to the other ones in a minute, but I think the Bruno decision is going to be a really interesting one. Is this the game? Is this the game that Michele has to bring Bruno to start in line up? He had his cameo against Asden Villa in midweek or Monday night. Sorry, a really good cameo as well. So so impressive in that 20 minutes who's on the pitch. He just demonstrated exactly why he's going to be such such a game changer, I think, for this Arsenal team, especially in the way that they attack and how

5:14quickly they move the ball forward. The big question mark is is he fit enough to start against Chelsea? Obviously, I've got 20 minutes against Asden Villa. Could he do 60 minutes, 70 minutes so far in in the Arsenal career? He's only done 45 against City in the community shield and obviously 20 against Asden Villa in competitive games. So is he ready to play 70 minutes in a real massive, big, big game against Chelsea? That's the big decision. If the Arsenal think he is, if our Teta think he is, I think he'll start. I think he'll bring him in for this game and it might well be that Marsler is skillly drops to the bench. It could be the first time we see Rice, Bruno and Oda God in the Premier League this season together starting a game. He's inevitably coming into the side. I saw it didn't sign Bruno for him to be a bit power player, so he's inevitably going to come into the side, especially for the big games. So just revolves around his fitness. But as I said, I just think that 20 as good as Mars has been and Mars has been great that a really good preseason as a good start to the season. But you can just see what Bruno is going to add and Mars is still going to play plenty. He's going to be really important. Come on off the bench at times,

6:18he can start games at times. Still be a really, really important player. But adjusting when you can play Bruno and you look at that three and how it'll work. I just think Rice and Bruno together is going to be so, so good, so strong. I think they complement each other perfectly. Rice will probably drop a little bit deeper into that six role. Then he'll have Bruno in between Rice and Oda God. I think it'll really be beneficial to Oda God as well. He won't have to drop his deep as we saw at times against Aspen Villa. We saw it in the community shield when Bruno and Oda God started together. That allowed Oda God to be much higher up the pitch and in those more dangerous areas to really hurt teams in the final third. So it's a big decision from a Kale. One I think is purely going to be based around fitness. But if they think that he is fit enough to start, I think Bruno will start this game. But let me know what your thoughts are in the comments below on that one. I think another big decision is on what happens on the left hand side or Crystal Solis and Eberi Shea. Solis had a difficult evening at Villa Park on Monday night. It only lasted 45 minutes. He really, really struggled up against Matti. Cash he played him very, very well. One that battle

7:22hands down. Solis also got yellow cards and the Celtic him off at halftime brought on his air and his air had a very good second half. It was really, really influential in that half. I was reading on a website today in common, which one I was, but Gary Neville had there was comments about Gary Neville about this decision and he says that he thinks Ezra will play. I think he said it would be stunned if Ezra didn't start this game. He said that Solis obviously really, really struggled. Said he didn't want to get carried away by the Coventry game and sort of watching that Coventry game he felt like defenders could work out Solis pretty quickly. And sort of suggested that's what Matti Cash did. Now I think that's a bit harsh. To me, I would actually still start Solis in this game. I think just because of one underwhelming 45 minutes, he has the first time he's put a foot wrong in an arse of shirt. Just feel like it might be a little bit harsh on him to take him out the side just after one disappointing performance. So I would still back him in this game and start him. You know, he's seen so far at the MRC's been very, very good. Obviously it was a real difficult one, but I think it's a good learning

8:25experience for Solis. Matt came against Astana Balehi. He'll learn a lot from that. He's never going to go perfectly every game in every single time he steps out on the pitch in an arse of shirt. You know, barely put a foot wrong since signing. Everything had just gone in that direction. So it's kind of good when it's sort of you hit a bit of a wall and suddenly your eyes are open a bit and you're like, my God, this is a little bit harder than I thought. Then I found up to now. And you can learn from that. And I think he will learn from that bit apart. I think that'll be a really important 45 minutes for him. But I'd still start starting despite how as I played, how good he was when he came on. I'd still stick with Solis for this game over on my left-hand side. And I'm fairly confident he'll have a really, really bright game as well. So I think that's another decision facing Michaela Teta. The other one he's probably got. And again, this could be based around fitness is consa or mascara. Moscara, I've seen one off of a slight hamstring injury after sort of midway for your second half of the villa game. But Michaela sent after it. That was

9:28purely precaution that he's fine. He sort of brought him off because he felt like there was something that could happen. So that's, you know, it certainly doesn't seem like he's going to be ruled out against Chelsea. But even if he is fit, I would expect consa to come in for this game. I think Michaela want to get consa in the team pretty quickly. Obviously got a few minutes against Ashton Villa. But I would see him looking at consa. Again, especially against his Chelsea attack, which is going to be a cause-assignal real, real problems. They've started the season so, so well. The movement's great. You know, Xiao Pedro, as I said before, it's just a fantastic, fantastic player. And he calls Sleab and Gabrielle problems when he plays against him. And so I think Michaela want to get consa in to that backline alongside Gabrielle to try and help deal with the threat of Xiao Pedro and also the sort of rotations that we're going to see from Morgan Rodgers and from Cole Palmer and potentially Pedro Netto as well. And all of those are going to be moving all over the pitch. You know, that's what this Chelsea attack looks very, very fluid. So I think you want the experience

10:28of consa in for this game alongside Gabrielle and to have that sort of spine of consa, Gabrielle, rice, Bruno, potentially, in that sort of box of four down the middle in and around the Arsenal's defensive areas. I think it'll be very, very keen to get that go in. So I think those are the sort of the three key decisions. I think the rest of the team picks itself. You know, Haberts will start front convinced of that. Sacrall be on the right on side. Odegaard will start, I think White will start, Califuriel start on the left. So it's just those sort of three decisions what you do at center back, what you do at midfield, and then what you do on the left hand side of the attack. Let me know all of your thoughts on that. I think I would just about do it if I were in charge, but I really need to know who I'm then pressured to sell or what I can't have

11:33next summer as a result. We're going to need a centre forward next summer and ideally they are an upgrade on Kai. I think over the two windows you want your budget more at centre forward than left winger given the players available and how we play. We absolutely should have signed a younger left winger for cover though and that's the real failure this summer. We have had it panned out. Would I do Rogers for 117 million? No, I still wouldn't. I mean, I was never hot on Rogers anyway. I said that at the time. Arsenal obviously where our tetas was and I still feel the failure to land. Rogers would wear the kind of attacking process started to fall down in terms of the transfer window. I think that was scrappling around a little bit after that. It was like, well, oh God, what we're going to do. We thought we're going to get Rogers. That's what happened. Let's go over a real sort of, let's try for a market opportunity on Vinic Jr. for example and then see what happens with Alvarez all that. It kind of felt like they were chasing their shadow a little bit after the Rogers deal fell through. So they obviously wanted to do it but I was never that hot on it. I said it at the time. I just didn't really see. It wasn't the kind of profile of left side of player that I really wanted Arsenal to go for. So even now, I'd rather not do it, especially for

12:35117 million. I think that money can be best saved and spent better elsewhere. As I said at the time, I still rather would have rather asked my side by cola than the Morgan Rogers. So no, not for me. If it was still there two weeks ago, no, I still wouldn't do it. I'd keep my power to dry on that one. But that's just my opinion. I know a lot of people will disagree. I go on from Vanagan now. He says, just with respect to failing in our vanishes I still think there is some level of success in changing Madrid's proposal to him, even if we ultimately failed to get in the money Madrid had to pay vanishesment. It became harder to sign Roderie. I'd be way more concerned about them in the Champions League if Roderie signed for them. Also, having vanishes on the contract, he is now, surely makes it more important to sell good players in the future and will make it harder to sign superstars on thinking of Saliba. Sure, we failed in signing vanishes, but I do think there is a lot of nuance that is being left out. I still prefer to be at the table, even if we fail. PS, we are signing croopie in January. I wouldn't

13:35say no to that. Yeah, I don't blame Arsenal for the vanishes thing. They were ambitious. They went for it. I know a lot of people looking in and say, they were suckered in. It was just to get a better deal and all of that sort of stuff. I don't really buy into that because I just don't agree with it from everything I've heard. They were genuinely serious and they really did think they had a chance and the noises they were getting, they felt like they had a chance and I think it was close. It was a tough decision for vanishes. It was always, we knew that ideally their plan was to stay in Spain, stay in where I would dread. It did force Madrid to go over and above what they wanted to do. I do agree with your comment as well. I'd much rather Roderie have not signed for round Madrid. I do think that Barcelona are going to be a massive, massive danger in the Champions League now, though. The fact that they've signed Roderie as well, when you've got the attacking options that Barcelona have got, and then you add Roderie into the mix to sit in front of the defence. That's a worry and prospect because the way they play and they flick sets his team up as good as they are, attack, I always felt you could really get them

14:38defensively and that's what cost them ultimately at the top level. But with Roderie there, I think it makes them a much tougher nut to crack. But if you were saying to me, who would you rather that Roderie play for, Barcelona or Real? Maybe I'd say Barcelona, I don't know, but I wouldn't want to come up against either to be fair, although we are going to be coming up against Real Madrid. Obviously, so thank you very much for that one, Vanaganna. Gunnigreg now has got to touch this. How does the team decide on their valuation of players? Do you think once the market is starting going, but no, there's this summer, they should have re-evaluated their numbers. I don't know on some, maybe anything they did, they paid more than they actually wanted to for Ezri Conzer, they paid more than they wanted to for Bruno, so they did re-evaluate their numbers on those two because their players they really, really wanted. But I think the valuation just was still within the remit that they found acceptable. For someone like Rodgers, for example, the valuation ended up going about 40 million pounds over what they wanted to pay, which was just too much.

15:42I think fairly similar for Barcola as well, because they were interested in this, but they just never, ever felt that valuation was the correct one. I kind of applaud them for that. I do, I don't think you should just be going out spending 30, 40 million pounds extra more than you want or more your value players at just because some other teams are. The market was ridiculous this summer, ridiculous. They did still do some good deals. In terms of how the team decide on their valuation of players, I can't say for certain, but they will get around the table and they have discussions that the summer plan to sort of laid out well before the winter window. Arsenal go over, tend to go over our tether in the team, not the team, but our tether and some of the management team and stuff go over to America and have to sort of sit down, meet him with the cronkeys around sort of November time. That's when the summer plan starts to get laid out and they'll talk there about who they want, how much they think they're worth all that sort of stuff. But I think in any sort of business, there's always a point, isn't there, where you kind of have to cut yourself off.

16:42If the value is just going up and up and up and it's not what you're doing acceptable, then there's got to be a point when you do cut yourself off. So yeah, when you say, should they re-valuated the numbers? They did for a few, but they've still got to feel kind of in the remit, and obviously for Morgan Rogers out, that wasn't the case. A guards are saying, hello Carlos. What do you think the vibe would be if we signed as a this summer instead of last? All things equal. Tross it out, Solicit might nearly out, as an interesting one. I think the vibe would have been different, because the vibe is always set by the time a how things ended, as well. I think transfer windows as well, when you sort of do your business early and you don't do any later on, there's always a more negative view of the transfer window. But if you suddenly do no business early on, and then suddenly you sign three or four players late on in the window, if one has that dopamine hit of the transfers having happened late on, then you just finished the window in a much better mood. Although you'd have exactly the

17:43same numbers here now, I do think if it was the other way around, then you added Ezra in now, and it was sort of two in two out, it probably would be a very different feeling also. I think one of the drawbacks in terms of how people view it now, if Ezra, is that we saw last season that Michele wasn't keen on playing them on the left hand side, so that's, I think that's a reason why people are looking at it now, and thinking, well, Michele didn't do it last season, didn't think it was good enough last season, so why is he suddenly going to do it this season? But at size R, he's going to have to, and to be fair, he's going to have to as well. So it's an interesting one, guys, I do think you're right. I think the vibe would be different, even though it doesn't make much sense, because the numbers are still exactly the same, would still be exactly the same, but I think the timing would just make the vibe slightly different.
