Arkansas Honors Nolan Richardson with Statue

0:00On March 22nd, the Arkansas Razorbacks are set to honor their legendary basketball coach, Nolan Richardson, with a new statue outside Bud Walton Arena. This tribute recognizes his massive contributions to the program and the state. The announcement came at halftime during Wednesday night's game against Texas, where Richardson got a big surprise right on the court. Athletics director Hunter Yurichek highlighted how Richardson's influence on basketball and Arkansas runs deep. He led the team to their first national championship in 1994, made 12 other NCAA tournament trips, including three final four runs and holds the school record with 389 wins against 169 losses over 17 seasons. The Arena's court was already renamed Nolan Richardson Court, back in 2019 to celebrate his legacy. The statue will go up on the west side of the building, with construction kicking off soon, ensuring his achievements stand tall for generations of fans.
