Officials in Hawaii are urging residents to prepare for heavy rains and flooding as Hurricane Lull, a major category three storm, has prompted forecasters to issue a tropical storm warning and a hurricane watch for two islands. Robbie Berg, warning coordination meteorologist at the National Hurricane Center, says now is to time to prepare. A tropical storm warning is now in effect for Hawaii County, like the sounds of Kauai and Niihau, and because of that we are expecting a tropical storm conditions on those islands to begin Monday afternoon. So even though Lull may not be a direct impact with the eye moving on those islands, we do think that there will still be strong winds or could even be gusts close to Hurricane 4, especially in some of the mountainous areas. So residents that really do need to be preparing have everything done today and early Monday before the conditions start to deteriorate. I'm my camping.
