I'm Ben Thomas with an AP News Minute. Iranian State media says the Revolutionary Guard struck eight oil tankers in two U.S. Navy warships today in retaliation for U.S. strikes in five Iranian tankers yesterday. U.S. Central Command denies the claim adding all attempted attacks failed. President Trump offered a new assessment of how long the fighting might go on. I think the war will end immediately after the election. Because they can't hold out any longer. They're desperate to try and affect the election so that we can get a nice week group of people in there and leave them alone and let them have their nuclear weapon. Regional officials tell the AP Yemen's Houthi rebels helped Iraqi militias launch drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities in July. The U.S. and Saudi Arabia responded to those attacks with rare joint air strikes on the Iraqi militias. I'm Ben Thomas.
