0:00I'm Marcelo Sanchez with an AP News Minute. The White House says the US is banning dairy products, most alcoholic beverages, and some motorcycles from Canada. The ban goes into effect September 29th, and comes after Canada's retaliatory tariffs of up to 50% on US imports kicked in yesterday, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. In the spring of last year, I warned that America is trying to break us so they can own us. And I promised that that will never ever happen. Last month, the US imposed 50% tariffs on about 5% of Canadian imports. The US military says it destroyed five Iranian oil tankers in response to the latest attacks on its warships. Iranian state-run media says Iran launched missiles toward US targets in Jordan following the American strikes.
