0:00I'm Julie Walker with an AP News Minute. Candidates in several states with competitive house and Senate races are at Labor Day events gearing up for the midterms. This year's campaign's already been combative, busy and expensive. They're expected to get even more so as a larger number of voters tune in ahead of the November 3rd general election. The first statewide mail ballots already went out in North Carolina Friday. Meanwhile, the Trump administration is again asking the Supreme Court to allow restrictions on those mail-in ballots. Donna Water reports, for the third time the Trump administration is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to intervene and allow the administration to put limits on mail-in voting in time for the November elections. Solicitor General John Sowers has ballots already are being mailed in North Carolina and other states will begin the mailing process if a federal judges and junctions remains in place. Democratic states and voting rights groups say Trump's changes are unconstitutional. A third of voters use mail ballots. I'm Julie Walker.
