Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has weighed in on the ongoing unrest in Los Angeles, downplaying the severity of the events by referring to the situation as merely the actions of “unruly teens.” She dismissed the characterization of the incidents as organized or politically motivated, instead framing them as the result of youthful frustration. At the same time, Ocasio-Cortez placed blame for the broader unrest on President Donald Trump, accusing him of creating the conditions that led to the current tensions. According to her, policies and rhetoric from his administration have intensified division and discontent, contributing to the atmosphere now unfolding in California.
