Anniston Men Charged in Oxford Mall Shooting

Two men from Aniston face charges after a shooting at Quintard Mall in Oxford that injured one person. 20-year-old La Croix-Daron Wallace Jr. is charged with attempted murder. 19-year-old Malachi-Ziamir Taylor faces charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct along with a bond revocation. The incident happened Saturday during a sneaker release event. Police say the two men argued, pulled out guns, and one fired a single shot that hit the other in the arm. Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge stressed that anyone bringing violence to the city will face arrest and accountability. He praised his officers and investigators for their quick work and dedication to keeping the community safe. Bonds for both suspects are expected to be set soon as the case moves forward.
