Who are Akkadians? ‘ The Akkadian Empire /əˈkeɪdiən/ was the first ancient Semitic-speaking empire of Mesopotamia, centered in the city of Akkad/ˈækæd/ and its surrounding region, also called Akkad in ancient Mesopotamia.
