Here's more Tampa Bay news for March 3rd. Sculptor Angela Mia recently sold the first piece from her collection, inspired by Ballerina Izzy Martin. The artwork, titled Purpose, honors Izzy's two-year fight against bone cancer. It happened on a Friday morning in February at the Milan Art Gallery in Sarasota, Florida. The sculpture captures Izzy's grace and strength during her battle. Mia created a life-size version that now stands at Izzy's school. She also made 12 smaller ones to share the story more widely. Our enthusiasts, Shelley Schwartz, spotted the pieces while walking by the gallery and decided to buy one right away. Mia met Schwartz that morning and shared how the work reflects Izzy's beauty and her family's deep love. Two of the smallest sculptures will go directly to the Martin family. The other ten are up for sale, marking the start of sales with Schwartz's purchase as number one. Proceeds from the sale support the team is the foundation. The group funds childhood cancer research and education, Izzy herself became a strong
advocate for these causes toward the end of her life. Support for this episode comes from our sponsor, see the description, a pillow that plays your sound quietly, comfortably effortlessly, built for nighttime listening, S-O-L-I-SoliPillow.com.
