Did America cease to be great? Perhaps it’s because America ceased to be good. There’s a quote attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville who said “I sought for the greatness and genius in America and her harbors and ample rivers, and it wasn’t there. In her fertile fields and boundless forests. It wasn’t there. In her rich mines and vast world commerce. It wasn’t there. In her Democratic Congress and her matchless Constitution. It wasn’t there. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard the pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of American genius and power. America is great because she’s good! And if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great. So WHY are we making war on Christianity?
