Amelia's Legacy: Joy on April Fool's Day

0:00On April 1st today, the funeral for 8-year-old Amelia Coppa, from Raleigh Regis, brings the community together. She battled stage 4 neuroblastoma since age 2 and passed away on Tuesday, March 17, after inspiring folks far and wide. Earlier this month, on her birthday, March 3rd, a simple call for cards turned massive. Supporters sent over 250,000, crushing the 8,000 goal while she was in palliative care. People across the region and beyond fell in love with her spirit. Matt Lem from Lockside Steakhouse and Starbridge coordinated deliveries of more than 60,000 cards from around the world. Organizers shifted the service to 1.30pm on April 1st at Waisley Hills Crematorium. Family wants bright colors, not black, close ones inside the chapel. Public outside, and a convoy kicks off at noon from the Steakhouse, hitting her, home by 1pm before the site. Her playful vibe fits perfect on April Fool's Day, leaving a legacy of joy as everyone honors this little fighter one last time.
